Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends! Beautiful day here in MN all day!! In the 80's, and we were invited to Lori's for ribs, corn on cob and potatoes all on the grill made by her friend, Jeremy!  Delicious!  We spend a good portion of the day having coctails made by Jeremy, and playing a few games of the Bean Bag Game!  It was fun!  Linus got a package of different kinds of meats for Father's day, he sure was impressed!!! That's the first!  Brats, summer sausage (venison) etc. etc.
Hoping you all had a good day today too!! Too bad Darla has to be alone - her husband is at his job in GA for another week.  We talked to her on the phone this morning.  May God grant your every wish!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday

If you would be ashamed to sign your name to your conversation, don't say it.
Lord, my words can have far reaching effects.  May the effect always be good.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one
and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You
cannot serve God and wealth."  ~Luke 16:13

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

Sometimes we'd like the full and complete satisfaction that we can find
in serving God and all the satisfactions of the world as well.  It is
not easy to serve both God and the world.  It is difficult to claim the
rewards of both.  If we work for God, we can still have great rewards in
the world.  We can also be prepared to sometimes stand apart from the
world.  If we turn to the world for all the rewards which life has to
offer we can be disappointed.  If we try sincerely to serve God, we can
have other and greater rewards than the world has to offer.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may not expect too much from the world.  I pray that I may
be content with the rewards that come from serving God.

Permanent Address

A young woman completing a job application came to the line asking
for her "Permanent address." She began to list her street and house
number but paused for a moment. Then, with a small smile she wrote,
"HEAVEN."

She understood that Heaven is a real place... and the ultimate home
of God's children.

No place on earth is truly home for those who belong to God's family.
The Bible says that we are travelers... just passing through. Heaven
is the ultimate, eternal destination for those who love God. In fact,
their time on earth is like one small dot on a continuous,
never-ending line.

Is God the landlord of your permanent home? If not, then the time is
Right to start investing in the future. Ask God to wash you clean and
forgive your trespasses and sins so that you will be suitably clothed
for Heaven's splendor. Ask Him to make you His child through the sacrifice
of His Son. Ask Him to reserve a place for you, so that you can be
with Him forever.

Heaven is the best home of all because God lives there. It is filled
with hope and joy and peace and love, and it's forever. Start planning
for your future today!

Jesus Calling

June 21

Wait patiently with Me while I bless you. Don’t rush into My Presence with time-consciousness gnawing at your mind. I dwell in timelessness: I am, I was, I will always be. For you, time is a protection; you’re a frail creature who can handle only twenty-four-hour segments of life. Time can also be a tyrant, ticking away relentlessly in your mind. Learn to master time, or it will be your master.

Though you are a time-bound creature, seek to meet Me in timelessness. As you focus on My Presence, the demands of time and tasks will diminish. I will bless you and keep you, making My Face shine upon you graciously, giving you Peace.

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
—Micah 7:7

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
—Revelation 1:8

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
—Numbers 6:24–26

Mother Teresa Said...

"The Eucharist is connected with the Passion. If Jesus had not established the Eucharist we would have forgotten the crucifixion. It would have faded into the past and we would have forgotten that Jesus loved us. There is a saying that to be far away from the eyes is to be far away from the heart.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Harlene - The meat gift is always a good thing.  We used to do this for his parents for birthdays and Christmas, a care package and they loved it.

TODAY IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN,

YET THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL EVER BE

SO - ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS.

~Your kids are becoming you......but your grandchildren are perfect!

~Going out is good.. Coming home is better!

~You forget names.... But it's OK because other people forgot they even knew you!!!

~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything.... especially golf.

~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.

~You sleep better on a lounge chair with theTV blaring than in bed. It's called "pre-sleep".

~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch..

~You tend to use more 4 letter words ... "what?"..."when?"... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~You notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?!!!

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everybody whispers.

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet.... 2 of which you will never wear.

~~~But Old is good in some things: Old Songs, Old movies, and best of all, O It's Not What You Gather, But What You Scatter That Tells What Kind Of Life you've lived.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never
leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday
Gloria, So glad you got the thread going, and it was pretty fast at that. I'm glad you had a good fathers day yesterday. The meats are a great gift, and will be enjoyed I'm sure. Our day was quiet here, and it surprises me how quickly Sundays go by, as I do on  little on any Sunday so I can honor the Lord's day.
Harlene, Hope you've had a good weekend.
Puddles, The blessing you posted was really nice.
Hope everyone has a good week, and finds the boards easier every day. I spend less time here now, as there are far less new posts throughout the forums, and too much time here hurts my eyes and really gives me a headache. A good thing I'm sure, as I do other things instead. Take care, pinky
