Hello my friends!  Beautiful Easter Sunday today - it started out with snow overnight, but soon it all melted and we were even able to be out on Lori's deck this afternoon.  Good to be all together again!  My blessings are always my dear family and Sammy who is so dear to us and all of you, my friends whom I've met through this thread through the years and kept as friends!  Praise God for family and friendship!

Love and trust are the solutions for the worries and frets of life. 

Lord, I pray for Your gift of Faith which is all that I need for Your

power to work within me.

I can discipline myself.  I can do this disciplining now.  I can turn
out all useless thoughts.  I know that the goodness of my life is a
necessary foundation for its usefulness.  I can welcome this training,
for it opens me to receive the power God wants to give me.  I can
believe that this power is a mighty power when it is used in the right
way.

I pray that I may face and accept whatever discipline is necessary.  I
pray that I may open myself to receive God's power in my life.

Be still in My Presence, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention. Nothing is as important as spending time with Me. While you wait in My Presence, I do My best work within you: transforming you by the renewing of your mind. If you skimp on this time with Me, you may plunge headlong into the wrong activities, missing the richness of what I have planned for you.

Do not seek Me primarily for what I can give you. Remember that I, the Giver, am infinitely greater than any gift I might impart to you. Though I delight in blessing My children, I am deeply grieved when My blessings become idols in their hearts. Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from Me as your First Love. When I am the ultimate Desire of your heart, you are safe from the danger of idolatry. As you wait in My Presence, enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ in you, the hope of Glory!

I really liked this one.  I didn't get to have Easter with my family this year as I have been ill and was in the emergency room the day before Easter. The "how to be at peace when distress is assailing you" really hit home for me.  Not an easy thing to do, but with God's help He brings us through if we will just perservere and stay true to Him.  Thanks for this today. I lost a box of earrings.  Looked every where for them and could not find themI prayed to St. Anthony and found them right away.  Praise God!
