I don't think that exchange was "cute", rather I think it was one woman sharing some fashion advice with another woman.  I don't think her age or your age even matters.  She was right.  If you want to try something new and fresh, nail polish is great way to do it.   I like to stay current when it comes to style and fashion.  I often take advice from my daughters who are 30ish but now I find that I am taking advice from my 20something nieces and even my friend's 15 year grandaughter.

Try to Blue nail polish.  I have several shades of blue.  There was a time when I wouldn't have thought about it but I love having different colors around, epecially on my toes in the summer.  

Hey it's nail polish.  If you don't like it, you can take it off and put another color on.

 She also had a lip and nose piercing.....  I will not go THAT CURRENT

I was sitting at the table one day with my daughter, trying on all the different colors of polish she had.

I tried a navy blue on one nail and I really liked it but it stained my nail terribly.  It looked like I had really poor circulation or heart disease.

@CelticCrafterYou need a good base coat before applying a dark polish.  Not a problem to me, since I always use a base coat, but If you're not accustumed to using one, you can get bad stains.
