We have been using them for decades and I do not know if we ever had one fall down.

We have the hooks and velcro in all different sizes and have large and small items hanging on the interior and exterior walls.  No problems.

I have an entire Pottery Barn wall gallery hanging with command strips and the frames are NOT light.

I have used them at all -- it's true they have caused no damage but as others have written - after about a year mine let go and the items fell off the wall.

i use the heavy duty outdoor ones for my wreaths. no issue. you must follow directions, i think the cleaning of the area is very important, i didn't have alcohol so i used nail polish remover, worked like a charm, mine has been up about a year. just make sure you pay attention to the weight that it holds, mine said 5 lbs indoor/outdoor I did move it up last summer, and broke the tab, I put dental floss behind the strip and came off no problem, paint not damaged.

I use them on my front door to hang wreaths year round.  They work great.

I once had a framed print fall off the wall, so I haven't used them since.

I tried them (large size 5 lb ones) to hang my 36" outside wreath on window.  I put them on the vinyl trim and 3 days later -- came out and the wreath was on the ground😳

My son used them to hang stockings on wall -- when they removed them the drywall tore with the removal.

I only use them on "non-porous" places now.  Going to try them to hang garland around my door this year.

I used them on a smooth, painted wall and within hours all three pictures were on the floor.

I used them on a wallpapered wall and had no problem at all.

They were the exact same hooks, the frames on the papered wall are way heavier than the frames on the painted wall.

Go figure!

@CelticCrafter   I used Command Strips for years with no problem.  More recently, I've found two things.  Either they don't stay up, or I can't get them off.  I have one on my wall right now.  As i pulled the tab to remove it, the adhesive strip broke.  I have no idea how to get it off.

Something has drastically changed at 3M, regarding their quality.  We bought their blue painters tape recently, and it kept coming off of the wall.

Removing the hooks:  be careful to slowly pull down the little tab.

If you don’t, you will tear and remove the top layer of your drywall.

Thank you. Now I know what I did wrong a few weeks ago Smiley Sad.

In my living room too.
