Re: Checking In with "Soap" Friends

[ Edited ]

Thanks for asking  @Tique

  " 🎶 I felt the earth move 🎶 under my feet. 😂 "

Thankfully, all is well.

I had just stepped out of the elevator and returned to the apartment. Already not a fan of, elevators since I was stuck in the Empire State Building  elevator, when I was 7 months pregnant,  in 1986!

I was just happy I wasn't in there when that happened! 😱

I stayed home from work yesterday so, I was busy telling my husband about my morning adventures. I went out for bagels.

As I was chatting away,  he jumped up from his chair and asked me if I felt that? I think I actually didn't until

he pointed to our tree, which was recovering from the quake.

At that point,  I got dizzy...but I am a dizzy dame anyway! 😜

All is well, how about @Coquille and @grandma r ? Did you feel it?

@Tique  Speaking of elevators...You can see my fear from this old post/ repost. 😆

I was just perusing last years April thread to refresh my memory as to what was going on and I caught this repost from you.
I couldn't resist. 😝

@KBEANS  I know that song. It will be in my head for the rest of the day.

Glad all is well.  Happy smiley 5

Some day soon you will have to post details about the 1986 event. No pressure. As long as it's before EOM which gives you 24 days. Short month. Not THE shortest but short anyway.

@KBEANS   the above made me so happy. I love that someone other than me goes back and searches old threads. Thanks for the repost.

I remember that comment about old Pork Pie.

Miss Epiphany. At least her name has been mentioned a couple of times recently.

Well then @Tique  Heres the reason why I peruse...another tune to get stuck in your head!  hahaha! Too much time on my hands. 🎶

I like to remember what was happening a year or so ago or check this or that.

Sometimes my son, husband and I are at odds with a storyline and we challenge one another. I have the GH thread to refer back to and it settles it.

Thank God that's all we're at odds about! Life should always be that simple for us 🙏 right? 😊

@KBEANS   that's why I included some of that in the first post of the GH threads when I was starting them. I think that's why @SleeplessinSD  posted she misses me the most at the beginning of the month. Could be wrong.

Btw if something needs to be settled with DH and DS and you can't find it, use a resource neither of them has: Me. If I don't know it I can usually find it and if the result proves them right we don't have to tell them. Happy smiley 7

YES you are blessed.

Re: Checking In with "Soap" Friends

[ Edited ]

It was probably about this time 1986. I believe my 5 year old wanted to visit the Empire State Building.

I remember we still had on winter coats and I actually have pictures from that day. I was 6 or 7 months pregnant,

My cousins husband was head of security there and so we got free passes and ventured up.

I think I was there one other time, on a class trip, but to be honest it never intrigued me.

We were in the second set of  elevators that brings you up to the observation deck. The one that runs between 86 and 102.

Don't  hold me to the numbers because again, I've never been invested in this literal tourist trap. 😆

So we are piled in the elevator and all of a sudden it stops. I could have freaked but I had my little guy with us and I held it together. I did immediately pull the down coat I was wear off;  and took his off too.

There was this Ahole of a guy, who started to try to pull the doors apart and open them. I said "Hey, Buddy, what the f are you doing? Stop playing hero with all these people and my son in here!"

Once I started, others chimed in and shamed him too.

There was an intercom in the elevator and someone called for help and referenced the pregnant woman.🤰

I yelled out Tell them to call (my cousins name).
Well that didn't help at all because it took at least 30 to 40 minutes before we were rescued (?) released...Idk how to reference it.

When we got out, the maintenance crew said "this happens all the time"

We walked around up there and looked out, my son took the picture with King Kong and did the touristy stuff.

The whole time I was sweating it out, coming down in the elevator.

I couldn't wait to get my ass out of there!

I did go back one other time with my both sons, and my niece and nephew when they came to visit, although I really didn't want to.

The son I was pregnant with when we got stuck was very uncomfortable going up in the elevator but the older one didn't sweat it.

There was a lot of talk about the elevator incident before we ventured up.

I haven't been back.

When people come to visit I will point to the Empire State Building but I will not suggest they visit. I can partially see it from my window. They put up a building that blocks my full view of it, but it doesn't bother me at all. 😝  I actually tell everyone that visits this  story to try to keep them at bay, so I won't have to endure the trauma again. 😝

A real New York story huh? A poor slob that lives here has this kind of experience at a famous landmark.

I liked to take visitors to a famous dirty spoon... Big Nicks for a hamburger (it's now defunct) or to Katz deli

(it's over rated) for a pastrami on rye instead.  😝

@Tique , yes, that's one of the reasons! Also, your questions for the month and caring thoughts/prayers for others going through things they don't discuss. I mostly read, as you know. I always felt welcome..

Re: Checking In with "Soap" Friends

@Tique. Thanks so much for checking.  We felt it; the house shook, and we felt only 1 aftershock.   From what the news said no one was hurt, thank God.  There was a grist mill from @1760 in NJ that partially collapsed.   There were several homes in that same area that had some structural damage.

Hope you are well and enjoying each day.

GH Spoilers: Finn Leaves Port Charles For A Much Needed Reset After Gregory’s Death

Micki Swift

Finn leaves Port Charles after Gregory dies

It’s inevitable. Unfortunately, Gregory Chase faces a losing battle with ALS. It’s a disease without a cure and time isn’t on his side. Gregory’s most important wish is to see his son Chase, and his fiancé Brook Lynn tie the knot.

Although it’s unlikely, many GH fans hold out hope for a miracle. Gregory is a beloved character and the audience doesn’t want to see him go. Sadly, the character and actor’s departure is inevitable after an ALS diagnosis. According to recent GH spoilers and rumors, Gregory’s time is coming to an end.

Finn Leaves Port Charles After Gregory’s Death

However, GH comings and goings rumors suggest that he isn’t the only one making an exit. Apparently, GH star Michael Easton who plays Hamilton Finn, shared some questionable posts on his new Instagram account. The account is new, so it could just be that Easton wanted to build content on the page. But General Hospital rumors speculate that there’s a deeper meaning behind this recent posts...

@Coquille   @KBEANS    we've stated how we feel about the character of Gregory Chase so it will come as no surprise when I say if this happens I'm okay with this.
