I am so very sorry to hear your diagnosis. It is especially difficult as you had your regularly scheduled mammograms and yet the mass was not "caught". You have my heartfelt prayers and encouragement.

I believe in the power of medicine but more so, in the power of prayer. May God give you the strength to fight, to endure, to persevere. Please let us know how you are doing. God bless.

@just bee I didn't know about your diagnosis. Did you not announce it until now or did I miss it? Anyway, I'm so sorry to hear it but it sounds like you've got things under control. Cancer has become so common that it's not IF you'll get it but WHEN. Thankfully treatment has come a long way. Are you going to the UNM Cancer Center?

@mariadomenica So sorry to hear of your diagnosis, and what a dismal holiday weekend you must be having. Treatment for all cancers has come such a long way that I think you can be optimistic about a bright outlook. I would've, however, had some choice words for the radiologist who had been reading those mammograms.

It's come up on a few threads.

And, yes, I'm getting treatment at the Cancer Center.

When I started going there a few months ago, there was no waiting. Now there seems to be so many more patients.

It is common. Everyone I've talked to has either had cancer or has known someone with cancer.

I had a 14 year-old psych patient recently who is in remission. A lot to go through at that age.

It affects everyone in some way, doesn't it?

@mariadomenica so sorry for your diagnosis. i pray you have the best of care and make a complete recovery. i hope you have someone to accompany you to appointments and take meticulous dated notes. if this finding was at same location as your previous mammograms, you may want to take all of your records now and get a second opinion. my prayers for your peace and strength in the fight ahead. keep us posted of your progress. hugs
