For Trader Joe's fans -

I just had TJ's Crab and Langostino Rangoon won tons (I think they're somewhat new). Beautiful and delicious - you could proudly serve them at a party. Just a few minutes in the toaster oven and instant classy yum!

Trader Joe's has wonderful appetizers imo.  I love the tiny tacos, my favorite.  We tried their shrimp toast for the first time for New Year's Eve and they were delicious.  They manage to get a really buttery crusty toast piece that softens at the top for the shrimp.  Not soggy, just softer.

It's bright over here on this side of the Bay, @Noel7, for most of the morning.

Sorry to hear about the rain getting in.  I'm happy to hear your DH stopped it.

One thing about this weather pattern is that I've only had to put her little yellow slicker on my dog once these past few weeks.  All other walks were either lighter rain, or no rain during walk time.

Good wishes coming your way for a good outcome on those blood tests.  I go in for a periodic test next week myself.

Happy day to everyone!

@GingerPeach

Thank you for the blood test good wishes, I can certainly use them Smiley Happy

I wish the same for you.  You've been doing a lot lately, I hope that means you are doing well.

DD is here, recovering from the concussion which turned out to have difficult side effects.  No reading allowed, which she is definitely not happy about.  She has wonderful friends, and one of them turned her on to the British baking show which she's really enjoying, and the kitties are providing cuddles and entertainment.  Thank goodness for our pets Heart

I love the idea of your little dog in his rain slicker Woman LOL

Good afternoon all!!

Hopefully no more rain coming in to doors at Noel's house. Good luck on the blood test.

Same to you Homegirl!!

I have to visit Home Depot for more suet for the cage I keep for the birds in my magnolia tree. Plus buy some pads for the chairs in DR that need them. The ones I am using keep slipping off so now I am going to buy the ones you hammer into place. I have them on at least 4 of the back legs of the chairs here. I ran out of them.

Going to make garbanzos tonight with a potato, some ham cubed, green pepper diced, onion chopped, a can of crushed tomatoes and some saffron. All served with rice. I haven't made it in a while so its a nice stew for the winter.

Hi ladies . . . I love TJ's mini chicken pot pies appetizers (and I am taking a lot of liberties with the name of that appetizer) as they are delicious and very filling (think dinner which is what mtc did) . . . Smiley Happy

Hi again @Noel7

Yes, I am doing well.  I have been sleeping well and that seems to be giving me more energy.  And the organizing has just added to the good feelings!

But your poor DD.  I can't imagine no reading.  it reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode when that fellow was all alone but didn't care because he liked to read, but then his glasses broke.  I think I remembered that correctly.  However, watching almost any British show is good for the soul, don't you think?   From what I've read here, it seems to me that your family has great taste movies and television.  And kitties and blankets on cold days, what could be better?  (For me and my dog, it's "blankie season"!)

She has been pretty good about allowing me to dress her in that little raincoat.  I think she gets it that she stays drier.

@JustJazzmom

Tell me more about the suet you put out for the birds.  Is it placed in something like this?  I tend to worry about insects or even rodents.  Is that an issue where you are?

Hi @momtochloe

I haven't seen those but will be on the lookout for them.  DD loves pot pies!

I ordered a new pressure cooker cookbook, 5 star reviews, 700 plus recipes.

I apologize, I thought your doggie was a little girl.

I saw that Twilight Zone not long ago!  Loved it, but what a sad ending for him.  Our daughter has been an avid reader all along.  I'd have to read her favorite books to her over and over when she was a toddler.  Yes, this is not easy on her, especially since it includes social media, lol.

British shows are my favorite!  I'm looking forward to seeing that baking show with her.

OMG, I apologize for getting it wrong again, I knew when I wrote the post above I had it backwards.

I cannot tell you how much stress it has been around here, so I will rightfully blame that, and the stress included the urgent blood tests.

Talk about stress, it took an hour to get through the test process, something had to have happened to cause that.  I wanted to go to TJoe's afterward but by then I was overtired and the tea had run its course through.

No apologies needed, @Noel7

Even when folks see her in person, and she might even be wearing her pink-patterned harness, they still say "he"!  She is a black dog, maybe that's why.   So again, no worries whatsoever.  (By the way, I have one of those names in which both first and last names could be a first name, and people are always turning it around.  I am used to all this kind of thing!)

You are all going to love the British baking show.  It is exceptionally good and kindness is woven throughout -- and plenty of real humor.  I don't know if you caught the americanized version, but it was rather an embarrassing copy.

I just set up my new little Improvements catalog chest and it looks pretty darn cute.  Maybe I'll take a picture.

@GingerPeach

I have this suet feeder:

It looks like this but the cage is below the eaves: One of the roof areas lifts up to insert the suet cake.

I buy this suet from Home Depot where it is the cheapest and also I buy 2 at a time. I freeze one in my freezer.

This suet contains cayenne pepper and most mammals (squirrels and rats) dislike this because of the pepper in it.
