I didn't even know QVC sold medical products. Have you looked for this on Amazon?   Prices would be good, and there would be lots of reviews.

     @Lana

                     The best one we use is an AMRON.

  Almost all doctors' and hospitals use that brand.

  I am a teaching clinical medical instructor: I would choose this for myself or family.

  There are many side effects to hypertension medications.

   Is this the 1st that you have been on?

   I finally took my husband OFF of blood pressure medicine and strictly am using DIET only.

  ps: Some nasty side effects, that I have seen.

Re: Blood pressure cuff

[ Edited ]

I cannot speak to QVC's BP cuffs.  I recently bought one from  HSN  that works very well and is easy to use.  You place it on your wrist, push the button, andi it gives you BP and pulse.  It also has memory and tells you the figures for the previous pressure.

Edited to add:  Item #1129416.  $31.95

Diet alone does not work for everyone. I tried it for years and my blood pressure varied all the while causing damage to my heart and circulatory system.

Blood pressure medications should be prescribed by a medical doctor. Trial and error yes but life saving and life extending in the long run.

There is a side effect to everything in life but sometimes the side effects are a lot less dangerous than the medical condition itself. I am sure as a teaching medical instructor, though, you are well aware of the dangers of hypertension......far worse than any side effects of a medication which often go away after a trial period.

That's easy to say, but for some of us those side effects are just horrible.  I've been on three different BP meds since October.  Every one of them makes me "sicker than a dog".  In fact, I almost went to the ER night before last due to the side effects.  Yesterday I didn't take any and felt normal except for the hangover.  And once your body gets used to having the drug it's addicted.  Horrible stuff.  It's such a fine line with these drugs.

At this point, I'm willing to take my chances

I have an Omron wrist and Omron arm cuff.  The wrist measures different than the arm.  I took it to my cardiologist and it didn’t line up with their readings.  My cardio doesn’t like the wrist cuffs.  I’m back to the arm cuff.  The wrist is much easier to use on my 5.5” wrist, however unstable readings in my case.
