I made my big Black Friday purchase shortly after midnight when I got a msg from Amazon that their Fire Stick was on sale.  I've been waiting for this.  I have one and want one for my other TV.  That'll be it for me this year.

@ECBG  On Tuesday a couple was setting up a tent to camp out in front of Best Buy....must have been a really one of a kind super deal!  Short of maybe a million, nothing would inspire me to do that.

Black Friday never has been my thing. Two words: night mare. But bro-in-law and wife love it. They buy, wrap and put under the tree by Sunday evening. Tradition for them as they strategize and make plans for the day. Their day begins early and they love it. Fun to hear them talk about it. Would be horrible if they ever wanted me to ride along with them Smiley Surprised

I look at all the ads and honestly there is nothing I need for me or others at the prices they are selling them that would get me to get out there in the dark of night.

In previous years I've found very nice online BF things.  So far this year I haven't seen anything.

About 5 years ago I went out on Thanksgiving around 7pm to Sears and Walmart with someone and it was crazy.  Very, very long lines for the BF stuff (it was being given out by staff and they had to bring it out on carts).  Nasty people, too.

@ECBG i saw a pair of shoes that other day that were "Vegan Leather."  I guess that's the new term for pleather.

Wow, pleather.  That's a blast from the distant past.   Vegan leather is the term for higher quality faux leather.  There are vegan leathers and faux leathers that are indistinguishable from leather and certainly better than cheap leather.

@phoenixbrdPeople on the news bring recliners and grills.  It's a party here in the cold.  No thanks for this traditional girl!

I remember when people would do that but around here, malls banned camping out several years ago.  It was so tacky and trashy!  Sleeping bags and tents days before Black Friday.  Now, people can only line up a few hours before the stores open and there are steel barricades to keep the lines orderly and security guards.  I still don't understand the appeal but I suppose, it's fun and a tradition fun.  Although, the bargains really aren't there.  You can get the same bargains and prices online.

It seems such a big hoopla is made of Black Friday, I've lost any desire to be involved.  IE., saw an TV commercial saying avoid the crowded malls and standing in line on Black Friday and come to "blah blah" and buy your new Cadallac or GMC Suv.  Really.

And is it really Black Friday anymore or is it Black November?

I guess the sales can really be great, if you know the normal price for the items you are purchasing.
