Hi All
Not sure where to start, but I guess I will say that I believe I am lucky to be alive. Back in Feb, I was very sick. Dr said it was the flu, and that is was really bad and it had been lasting 6-10 days. That was Feb 21 (and I first felt awful on Feb 17). Never got any better. Kept calling in sick to work and when I called in the Mon of the 4th week, my boss called my Sis-In-Law and asked that she check on me.This was on Mar 11). I couldn't get up off the couch to let her in, so she called 911. They had to break the seal on my back door window to get in.
Got to the hospital and I was severely dehydrated, my potassium was so high, and my blood sugar was very high. They admitted me and I was in there for 10 days, with the first 3 or 4 days in Cardiac Intensive Care. The ICU days are pretty fuzzy for me and when I was sent to another floor, I was so dizzy that I couldn't get out of bed for about 4 days.
Had to have an angiogram in my right leg (my big toe was grayish/blue.) While they were doing that, they found a fresh blood clot in the leg. They thought I was going to have to do kidney dialysis, but thanks to the Lord the meds they gave me did what they wanted them to.
My toe was the color it was because the circulation was pretty much cut off to my foot. I ended up with gangrene and I had part of my R big toe amputated and I couldn't put any weight on that foot for 1 month
