Ida due in about 5pmish today

was able to get most chores done,some are to heavy to complete wait till dh comes home from work to finish them up.

was able to get walk in this morn, not much else. later guys

have doc check today with surgeon who did back stuff, i think it is with a nurse practionier today. ok later guys

Thanks for the new thread Birdmama. I think we all are looking forward to fall after this brutal summer.

sorry,but this will be full of complaints,so move on if you do not want to hear it. My back pain has been beyond bad. I have lived with back pain for ages. Ive had a 7 hour surgery for degenerative disc disease. My spine is held together with rods,pins and screws. I have had P T. ,injections,to many to remember, back brace,etc,and pan meds. Can't do much for muscle pain,yes,I take muscle relaxers.Lately it has gotten worse. We bought a new mattress,no help. Have had CT scans,urogram,Series of  X rays. Nothing different shows up. My pain Dr. suggest I get a back brace. So I ordered one. He said I now has a little scoliosis on my left side. That is probably pulling my muscles from the right side,where the pain is. So,we'll see. Hubby wants me to see my back surgeon. NOPE! Like him,but don't think he can help. If the brace doesn't help I may have to take a ride to Johns Hopkins...really don't want to ! Sorry,just sick and tired of being sick and tired.

That sounds like total misery!  I'm sorry you have to endure such pain.  I hope your back brace will help.🤞

hey all

EPI glad we are hear for you with your back pain. we know these boards are for us to just yell and scream because we have to complain somewhere,we are those shoulders that you can punch and kick at and just lay it all out and you know something we do understand.we all have our daily problems with life. right now it is my implant surg. I have scolosis of spine, when it gets bad, which it does at a drop of a thread, man it can kick  you around the block.

we are here for each other, we can handle it.

had my 1st follow up from implant surg today. with nurse practionier lady. am on 2 month follow up right now, she wants to make sure i am doing ok as the months go on, will begin to spread follow ups further apart.

can take a shower without being bagged up over incision. i can be clean in that area, a month since i last washed the small of my back.

have to keep a log again on pee times how many  time and how  often and so on. the nurse lady was asking how often do i peeduring day and during night i could not give her a figure so back to keeping logs till she can get an idea of how well this implant is working for me.

under tornado warnings for dover/smyrna,DE till 545, rotation on radar, weather radio is busy today. i live about 13-30 minutes from these cities.

under flash flood warnings . we drove home from hospital today it was just coming down in horse troughs, make it a million hole shower head, it was was raining it was more deluging.skies opened up and Ida is dumping on us.

That's why we gather here @Epicurean    I don't think I would have the grace to deal with the back pain for as long as you've had to deal with it.  I pray the back brace gives you some kind of relief.

Yea I'm seeing tornado warnings left of right on the east coast.  I'm glad you can finally wash the small of your back.  Geez one more thing to try to remember - keeping a log of how many times a day you go pee.  Now that your bladder knows that you are watching it, you might get shy and not be able to go.  I guess it's a blessing that they are not asking you to measure how much exactly that you are peeing out.  (fingers crossed and knock on wood).

It was a fabulous day weatherwise.  I threw open all of the windows in the house and mowed the grass.  We had alot ot rain and I hadn't done the grass in 2 1/2 weeks (too hot and humid) and wow did I fill the lawn waste bags.  I think it was in the upper 60's when I did the front and maybe cracked 70 degrees when I did the back.  A yellow jacket kept swarming me for the first quarter of the backyard and I got 2 mosquito bites.  I think it's supposed to be in the 70's for the next week or so.  My kind of summer weather

not much here

listening to radio this morn while floors dry (bath-kitchen).

dh was walking up front steps, his knee gave out,he had those shots some 2 yrs ago and worked wonders till this morn, he fell going up front steps, scared me. going to call that ortho doctor and see when i can get him his 1st appoint.

don't know extensive damages from tornadoes yesterday. heard mullica hills , PA and NJ got hit severely. this is all in the philly area. newscasters were shocked to see the damage done to such a huge area, philly has not had a tornado in so many years i guess that is what is the shocking part.
