I also have had AARP for many years, and each year it goes up, no tickets or accident when I call I"m told it is my State that causes the increases. So not real good discounts for Seniors depending I guess on where you live. I would check that out before you make a change and be sure it will benefit you.

At one point I was going to get a quote on-line with AAA for insurance but because of everything we own to insure, I had to call in. Inquiring over the phone about new insurance rates is a very long process so I've just avoided it and stick with my current company.

@patticakes Go for it....I change my insurance both home and auto every three years. I have AAA ...this is my second year. I negotiated a reduction in my auto preimum as I agreed to paperless copy. By the way, I have Sprint for I phone coverage and Sprint through their service and pays for the fee to Triple A service when your car is disabled. Good deal. Don't know about AARP or Costco. I previously like you had Travelers insurance for years which has great service but got too expensive. I wonder how many in the US are driving around without any insurance. In the meantime, I'll bet AARP is the most expensive.

@summer4me - Same here. We are in So. Cal and Connect's rates (formerly Ameriprise) were very good. I do like only having to pay $1.00 more a month for doing 5 payments debited from our bank acct. and the 6th month free. For us, the free month comes in Nov. so I apply it to holiday gifts. Haven't had a claim in a long time, but when we did it was handled quickly. We also just received our 2nd rebate check for driving fewer miles. Glad to hear you're happy with them too.

When I lived in a small city in the Mojave desert my rates for car insurance was astronomical. They were high because we lived only a few miles from Hyways 395 and 14, some of the most accident prone highways in the country ( everybody I knew was impacted by one or more fatal accidents we were on the road between Victorville to Mammoth and Reno ( lots of speeding drunks on a narrow highway). Sometimes it depends where you live that determined what your insurance is.
