What a wonderful news story for April and Ollie!  It is uplifting and brings a smile to my face.  I love giraffes, so graceful and gentle.

Unfortunately and tragically they are being hunted by trophy hunters and poachers.  It makes me angry and sick that people can kill these majestic animals for fun or the thrill of it.  Anyone who participates in this horrible behavior  should be held accountable and punished.  They are cowards and people with questionable issues.

Sorry I had to throw that in with such a great story but awareness and fighting for these animals will help the species to grow in numbers. I am happy April's family is growing!

I know she maybe is used to it by now-its her fifth pregnancy! but I cannot imagine being 15 months pregnant!

I wonder if she is just tired but maybe that is what she knows.

I hope maybe they will let this be her last one though maybe not as they can live to 40 years in captivity and I know aside from them loving and caring forthem, they are trying to conserve and rebuild the giraffe population, which is now sadly classified as endangered.

Breaking news announcement on Animal Adventure Park’s Facebook page about a half hour ago.

The keeper noticed major changes to April’s condition this morning.  The vet has been contacted. They’re going to be doing frequent checks on her to see if she’s started labor. Labor has not started yet, but she has had some changes that indicate we might be ready.
