@Etoile308   @Luvsmyfam    I've worn hearing aids forever. When I got new ones (technology marches on), Medicare pitches in on many brands. It can become a real issue if they wait too long w/o hearing well.

Original Medicare does not pay anything towards hearing aids, therefore a supplement plan would not either.

Advantage plans advertise coverage for hearing aids, glasses and dental.

@Estellee The early bird menu was very limited on selections. Both parents eat very little as most elderly so it was perfect for them.

@Luvsmyfam Yes, and I remember my parents were both very frugal. They loved to get a nice meal with soup or salad, dinner, desert and coffee included too!

@Luvsmyfam It may sound boring to someone much younger but think it sounds lovely going out to dinner with your parents.  You still have both of them and cherish the memories!  I hope you took some photos!

I am sorry about your parents' resistance to hearing aid use. I suggest that you look up the relationship of hearing loss to dementia and continue to encourage them to get HA's. I also suggest getting them only from a licensed audiologist or maybe Costco if that is not feasible.

@Luvsmyfam  She did not mean boring with her parents.

I certainly wasn't jumping on the OP and never said anything about boring. I was agreeing with the posters who missed their parents and wished they could have a chance to be with them again. If my words weren't clear I apologize to the OP but I know 100% what was in my heart. I wish the best to her and everyone else who is dealing with the challenges of aging relatives. I did it for my parents and three of DH'S relatives and I know it can be difficult.
