@Luvsmyfam wrote:@Q-Checker As I stated,I work til 2pm,so I won't be bringing any side dish especially a hot one.So a bag of chips and pop for kids is about it
Am going into work, half day Christmas Eve. Same as a great many as the business, corporate world isn't shut down on that day. Attending my family event that evening bringing (2) casseroles, appetizers prepared before hand. You don't want to bring anything, prepare before hand. Nothing to do with working. Families with kids, work, tons of responsibilities manage such and a whole lot more.

@Luvsmyfam Wondering if you have any insight into the NADA statement you are making to your family and why you choose to make it? (Many posters have given good suggestions of things to bring that align with your work schedule.) And why you choose to share this with a group of strangers on the internet?

OP has stated prior parents are in their 80's. Would move heaven and earth for mine, much less allow/expect them to be responsible for feeding others no matter the occasion. As you stated, can't imagine conveying what comes across to a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Posters here share their life stories every day. Are only certain people allowed to do that?
