Yes, first thing this morning I went to neighbor's bank. I told the teller I wanted to cash the  check. After several question-do you have an account here, no.

Have you ever had an account here, no.

have you ever cashed a check here, no.

They wouldn't cash it unless I paid $7.00. You gotta be kidding.

I told the teller I wanted to know if there was funds to cover the check. She looked it up and said yes.

I left and deposited it in my credit union account.

I had several errands this morning and returned an hour ago.

I'm sorry you were treated rude, that was not a kind thing to say but not unusual for that poster.  I'm glad she had funds to cover the check.  

I am sorry your neighbor  put you through that, don't beat yourself up, you are kind, just remember to be kind to yourself.
