I want to thank the many posters who reponded and offered advice, it was much appreciated, and thank you. And yes, it was a very long thread.

A poster wanted to know what kind of business I had.

For 15 years owned a private business, I arranged and designed itineraries for individuals. I didn't work through an agency.

Domestic and international. It was very detailed and my clientele and work was very gratifying.

I had a few famous clients, mostly in Silicon Valley. Some were European clients, my favorite though, were people just like us, you and me.

Before that I sold property in Texas through my broker in San Mateo.

As a few suggested, I am not a doormat.

I had a few bad checks in business and knew how to check if there was sufficient  funds in their accounts.

I'm glad neighbor had sufficient funds. I'm not happy she didn't do as I requested.

She did text twice this morning apologizing, I accepted her apology and that was that.

There won't be anymore communication between us.
Thank you to the many posters who offered advice.

Your career sounds very interesting and challenging. I know you are not a doormat but in this instance, it sounded like you were reluctant to stand up for yourself. I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Re: @AlsaceGal Check

[ Edited ]

Three Threads were started about "the Check". I'm sure most of us who posted on the OP's Thread were waiting for a response there. Surprised the Moderators let these Threads pass by.

@Alsace Galso glad it's over.

As others have said,it seems to be a pattern where a poster asks for advice and then never lets us know the outcome. I'm sorry if you feel insulted.

That doesn't usually happen when it's a well known poster.

I am so happy that you are close to receiving your funds. I was annoyed for you.

I also do not understand the bank wanting to charge you 7.00 to cash a check. That's just a money grab on their part.

Congratulations.

I had a similar situation several years ago.  It was Chase Bank and their charge was going to be $25.00!!!!  No thank you.

Unrelated topic but your broker in San Mateo popped out to me.  Are you from the Bay Area?  We are from Burlingame which is next door to San Mateo and my son was born in San Mateo.

Yes, born and raised in Sunnyvale, lived in Santa Cruz County for many years. I commuted from Santa Cruz to San Mateo every other day, it was a long commute. When visiting dear mom and my dear sister I would catch Highway 17 in Scots Valley to mom's and dear sister. For my own business (travel) I  caught Bart in to San Francisco 2-3 times a week.

San Mateo is beautiful.
