Re: After I Was Done With Them, No Way Would They Go Back Into Coiling Again.

Funny post, with all the phone memories.

Occasionally for a tiny bit of time, in my first childhood home, there were a few times we could faintly hear another call. Don't know why it happened, but it was rare and short-lived. I'd have to Google it, but I don't recall why those party lines happened..

Anyway..while I like my smart phone, I still have my landline, and I like having that too. I still have an ATT "trimline" phone in my bedroom, with a chord.

I always say I've got one foot in new shool, one in old school. Smiley Happy

When DH and I first moved in together, the first thing I did was dump his party line.  That was in '81, wonder if they still exist?

I always wanted one of those Princess phones with the lighted dial.

@Foxxee   My GDs have ponytail holders that look like phone cords. They're the neatest things!

@hckynutjohn

Your post mentioning  a 40 year old land line tel # got me to thinking how old my tel # is...54 years.

Good for another 54 years? Well, maybe not Woman Very Happy

Twisting the phone cord .... and person to person phone calls.

OH!    I recently read that people use their very first phone numbers as computer passwords

Well, the number would never be forgotten, that's for sure!

Thanks for posting the photo @Foxxee .. I just don't know how. I couldn't do it on my other computer (Microsoft laptop) and I'm now on a MAC.
