@Shanus

I started out with a laptop but when iPads came out I gave the laptop to DH because he was still a working lawyer.

I like to read a lot so the iPad screen was great.  I use the type half-screen so the heavy keyboard attachment wasn't necessary.  The second iPad I got after he decided he might like my first one had its own internet connection.

My ipad fits into my slim purse and I can zip the shoulder bag closed.  Contents secure and my hands left free.  It can also go " crossbody " if I lengthen the straps: at 78 I will take advantage of anything to make life easier !

Wishing you both a " reprieve. "

@jlkz   I used to have a hand held IPAD that was touch screen, no key pad. I used it for years, but was not as useful as a full screen/keypad laptop.

Unfortunatley, my IPAD is no longer synced to my phone or laptop.

Re: A ROUGH FEW WEEKS!!!

UPDATE:   Tomorrow is a big day for DH! It's time to unwrap the mummy-looking tight ace bandages from upper thigh to ankle and take a shower...I may have to go in with him to steady him....OOOOH!

After that a tight rubber type stocking is worn for a month...off for showering. He has two to wash one and  wear one.

I'm thinking this ordeal is more than he bargained for. Men often are moire stubborn about following doc's directions. They sent him home with a sheet of instructions, but he enjoys lying on the sofa to his hourly walks around the house, to the mailbox and back, etc.

Clots are the biggest scare, so up to Nurse Shanus to keep him on the move.

Thanks for all the concern and wishes. My tooth is on the back burner until June 15th appt.

Thank You Nurse Shanus, for taking such good care of your husband. And being able to drive him to the hospital and all the Doctor's appointments (that will keep you two busy in the future).

And Thank You for making sure the post surgery directives are followed. That is so important.

It isn't easy to slowly have "medical and fixing up issues" now become a part job. Yes, growing old is not easy. Let's hope that you both will have smooth sailing for a long time, after you both have your issues fixed and healed.

@Shanus So sorry and much sympathy for Shanus and others going through trying times like this!

My one hint?  Take a rolling carry on case with you.  It's too hard to carry loads of stuff these days!  Put your must haves out of your purse and load them into that outside zip pocket of the bag.

Glad to see your post this morning and hope that all goes well at home today in preparation for tomorrow's appointment. I really hope they have some of the traffic issues worked out and you have an easier time finding the car. Take good care and know that you have a whole bus full for supporting friends with you!

You are doing great with your husband @Shanus .  More power to you!

I sure hope you have a shower chair.  They really come in handy.  Or stool or bench.... good luck with everything. Cat Happy

@kindred cats   No chair, but a tile seat we had built into the steam shower. He's already showered, I scrubbed his hair (& put a bit of conditioner even though he balked) and his back. When dried, he put on this black long "stocking" that looked like he was wearing leggings....with only one leg! Lol
