The best sheets I have bought in a long time are the Target Threshold sheets in cotton percale.  Nice thick elastic all the way around.  They even have labels telling you which is the top or side.  Wash up beautifully and wrinkle free if you remove them from the dryer quickly.

Wow!  That would be great.  I always try to put the bottom sheet on the wrong way.  I'm going to get some of these sheets.

@PINKdogWOOD, I am going to the US in a month and will definitely check out these sheets at Target.  I have been trying to find good cotton percale for ages.  The closest I have come is LLBean's cotton percale 280 thread count.  I have a set of sheets from the Hotel Collection that I just love.  I have been trying to hunt down another set for ages.  There are so many brand names that have 'Hotel' in them that I get hopeful but have never found that same one.

Whoever came up with these limp feeling sateen sheets should be shot.  They are a crime in the linen closet IMO.  LM

It sounds like your need is similar to mine.  I like a nice, tight, cotton so I find that the ones I use the most are 800 thread count Egyptian Cotton.

As for wrinkling - well, they would probably wrinkle if left in the dryer but I start taking them out as soon as they get dry.  I take out one sheet and let the dryer run with the other one while I either fold or put on the bed the first one.

If they either go right back on the bed or right to be folded they won't be wrinkly.   Cotton is cotton, though, so unless you buy something with a polyester blend (which I would avoid like the plague!), it can wrinkle unless you tend to it  pretty much as soon as it is dry.

The best I've found in recent years have been Kohl's percale sheets (The Big One brand).  Nice and crisp, though they lose some of that after a year or so of daily use.  I've read LL Bean has nice sheets; they're much more expensive, but may last longer than, for example, Kohl's.

I'm with you Ms CB on the drying of my linens.  I put the bottom one in the dryer alone b/c I can't stand when my pillow cases get stuck in the pockets.  I keep my eyes on it too so that as soon as it's dry, on the bed it goes - no wrinkles.

Then I'll dry the top flat with the cases.  Same thing, as soon as the flat is dry, on the bed it goes, and I'll finish making the bed then.

Crisp, clean, smells great, no wrinkles.  One queen beautiful bed!

I'm bringing this topic back up because many of us are singing the praises about Target's Threshold brand of sheets.  I noted farther down that this brand is fabulous.

I just looked at the label on the set on my bed right now.  It reads "Threshold Luxury 100% cotton" made in Bahrain.

Someone else attached a link to target's threshold percales.  I didn't really think these are the ones I have so I had to check my label.  There are many on their website noted at Threshold Luxury at different thread counts 500 to 1000 and they note to be Egyptian cotton.

If I were buying more of these, I'd buy the Threshold Luxury 500 thread count Egyptian cotton.

Part of the problem for me is that manufacturers are making bottom sheets too deep. You would think we all have 20" deep mattresses. I started using corner "suspenders" that attached to the corners of the fitted sheets and go under the mattress to the other side of the corner. I wish I had tried them years ago. They are very good at keeping sheets in place.

....

LOL, and I spent years trying to find sheets that were deep enough.  Our bed is a select air inside a waterbed frame.  Northern Nights are about the only ones that didn't shrink up too small for us.

The only issue I have finding sheets is they have to have a very deep pocket in the fitted sheet. I'm not picky when buying my bedding. I've really never had a problem with my sheets staying on my bed. I recently bought a set from Costco, some exclusive brand they were featuring with a rep the day I was there. These sheets are phenomenal! Really, really soft!

Ladies:  I have enjoyed reading your suggestions and I can only say thank you for taking the time to answer.  To get started, I am going to try the Target Threshold cotton sheets AND some of those sheet suspenders to hold them in place, and I am really hoping that will be the answer.  If not, then I'll keep going because there are a lot of your other suggestiions I can try.  I really appreciate your posts.
