Oh gosh, how could I have forgotten Marty! I watch that film every time it's on TCM. It has everything - sadness, happiness, comedy, etc. Ernest Bognine was perfect as Marty.
And I love the snappy dialogue in the scene with the women in the bar discussing the death of the woman who had one-too-many children.
A lot of people mentioned Casablanca. I have never thought much of that film, never watch it when it's shown. The allure just doesn't reach me.

The Letter was my favorite. I also liked Herbert Marshall in that-well, everything he does is good. Fabulous speaking voice.

So many good old movies listed here. I'm always a sucker for the holiday movies many of which have been listed. Along with the ones that have already been mentioned, I never pass up the chance to watch Easter Parade, Little Women and The Bishop's Wife.
ETA~ Meet Me in St. Louis and The Shop Around the Corner with all the remakes--In the Good Old Summertime and most recently You've Got Mail are also favorites.
I can't decide which Little Women is my favorite. I love the 1949 version and also the remake from 1994. My least favorite is the 1933 even though Katherine Hepburn made a great Jo.

One movie I don't think has been mentioned yet that I love is Kitty Foyle. Ginger Rogers was so great in this movie.

Agreed. I never pass up the chance to see this movie. I think it was so bold for it's time, so well written and acted. I am a big Sidney Poitier fan and will also watch "In the Heat of the Night" and "To Sir With Love" over and over again.
