The Letter was my favorite. I also liked Herbert Marshall in that-well, everything he does is good. Fabulous speaking voice.

I just listened to Herbert Marshall in some Classic Mystery Radio program (can't recall the name).  He had a great voice.

I heard it too, smoky. Forget what, tho. Yesterday I heard, "Murder My Sweet'' with D i c k Powell and Claire Trevor. Love Philip Marlowe and I thought Powell did a great role as the tough talking P.I.

[ Edited ]

tied for first place:

  * The Sound of Music

  * An American in Paris

Casablanca

Philadelphia Story

SInging in the Rain

Roman Holiday

Bringing Up Baby

Notorious

The Searchers

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

Ninochka

Holiday Inn

The Quiet Man

The Cat People (bizarre B movie, but I like it)

-- anything with Cary Grant, funny and gorgeous... a great combination! Anything with Astaire & Rogers, or Astaire and anyone or anything (even a broom). Most Tracey & Hepburn movies. Most Gene Kelly movie musicals (the body of a God, and moves like no other). Most Hitchcock movies.

I used to think D. Powell and Ida Lupino were the perfect couple.  Of course, they divorced.  I loved Ida Lupino and Humphrey Bogart in High Sierra.
