Re: Qurate Announces Mike George Retirement

Can Mike afford to retire?

Of course he can, and live in the lifestyle that he had become accustomed to, quite nicely.

But, if any of us could afford to retire early, I'm sure that plenty would.

Too bad the founder has passed away -- we need him back, when QVC really did stand for quality, value and convenience. 😟

I loved that video @stevieb !  I clicked on it thinking it was going to be something about Mike George.

@Foxxee   You might be surprised how many people in the top level of management, such as Mr. George, opt for retirement at this age, unlike regular workers.

I don't know what it means for the company but it certainly means only a favorable outcome for him.  And it does allow the company ample time to find aa repllacement and/or do some reassignment and/or restructuring if they aare contemplating that.

Not only OPT but are asked to retire, in so many words & ways. Very few people are able to keep their job into their 60's, esp. executives & especially now, during covid19.

Wishing Mr. George well.

And thank him for these Community Chat forums.

Let's hope that his replacement will continue, and wishing the new person well.
