S/3 Lit Mercury Glass Spheres with Outdoor Stakes

I have a question about the 3 lit Mercury Glass Spheres with Outdoor Statkes by Valerie, item number H202225. I have had them outside on my patio table in some glass containers.

While they look great, I was wondering if anyone if anyone has tried to used the hangers that come with them? From the reviews, I know many people don't have much success using the stakes. But I have a lot of room to hang them around my patio area. Has anyone else tried this and like it or had much problems doing so? Thanks...
