I can't say that I have ever heard a host refer to the fit as being "performance fit" or slim (maybe with G.I.L.I.?).  I like fitted/semi-fitted the best.  Fitted (IMO) works better for layering and semi-fitted if I am wearing a layer with it.

I like semi fitted the best because it looks the best on my body. When they say close to the body with some wearing ease, that's what I go for. I wont wear fitted because the 'loose skin" has a stubborn refusal to bend to my will and hide when I need it to.

Semi-fitted is my most comfortable feel. Never pulling at myself.

I  have all styles in my closets for different outfits......

that being said there are several  relaxed fits in the closet  for holiday dinners

Fitted for tops to be layered under other tops,  Relaxed for everything else.  I like a couple of inches wearing ease in my clothes.

ETA:  Looking at the diagrams ... my body shape is different  ...my shoulders are wider than my hips.

It would depend on the fabric and how it lays on the body.

I prefer semi fitted.

Semi fitted works best for me.  Relaxed fit is ofte oversized and too full and that makes me look short and wide.  Well, shorter and wider than I am...
