Wonder what would have happened if everyone, back in March, had said "What I can do to make workplaces, schools and medical facilities safe"?
And then we all would have worked to that goal? For the good of all our lives.

@Still Raining, I think that would have to have come from those in charge, beginning with the federal government. From there, the states and counties would at least have a blueprint.
As citizens, I think our job would then be to both follow the messages and to do what we can to help those in need.

I was waiting on new restrictions from our governor today, too (Virginia). He said we can't go out between midnight and 5:00 AM anymore. Needless to say, this is not exactly life-changing for me!
I am very sorry for anyone missing out on family this Christmas. We have kids at home and always spend Christmas at our own house, so we're not experiencing anything too different. We just won't be going to any parties this month.

@lynnie61 My son walked in a short time ago and told me the news. Oldsters like DH and me are ok staying at home, but the younger folks are seriously impacted - along with the eateries and bars. The younger people can interact via social media, but there is no substitute for personal interaction. And, the financial impact on our local businesses has been devastating. Wolf has been the poster child for social distancing and wearing masks; and, now he has the covid. How did that happen?

Just because you're a poster child in the public, who knows what goes on outside of the public eye. My first thought was to wonder what type of Thanksgiving was had.
I heard a commercial today about gift cards to a local restaurant a loved one of mine enjoys. Had planned to buy some. Now I'm hesitating since I think the closures, which I do think are necessary, may be the death blow for this small business. So many have closed already. I do curbside pickup at restaurants once a week, I'm going to try and increase that.

Released several hrs ago and they make perfect sense. It's really disappointing and pathetic, quite frankly, that we are even in this position. People are behaving so selfishly.

These are pretty much the same rules we had last spring, except for the religious exemptions.

We are pretty much staying within our state borders. But we literally are just a few miles from other states. Does anyone actually stop you if you wander, venture over into another state? Are there patrols?

@Still Raining. We did everything at our business we could back then and still do.
You can't force people to do what is good for all our lives cause there are some that don't care about anyone but their self.
I'm so tired by the end of my workday asking people to just do what would help us all. When did people get so selfish?
I'm beginning to believe what a customer told me years ago.We won't need foreign enemies to destroy us,we can do it to ourselves.
