lol, my DS was talking to a man on the phone about buying firewood...he said, make sure it is split and dry so my elderly Mother can handle it...I am 59....ha ha,

he didn't mean it in a bad way, he thinks I am frail and should  not be lifting heavy stuff

middle age is the age you are at 6 months after your last birthday and 6 months before your next birthday

To me, middle age is about 45 to 65.  My mom just reached age 100.  I told her she is no longer old -- now she's antique!

74 is middle age only if you are planning to live to 148.

Chronologically, I guess I'd say it's the fifties.  That's how I always thought of it, anyway.

 

However, to me this is once again another one of those labels that society uses to play games with people's minds.

 

It definitely has a negative connotation when it's used, imo.

 

In my view, age is a number, and the true test of age is how you act and think.  If you are youthful in spirit and mind, then that's what's important.

I think of it as meaning no longer really young but not yet a senior.

 

I would say it's 45-59.

I'd say 41-61 is middle age.
