As per the states's supreme court ruling today, she was scheduled to die last week. She was convicted in 1999 for the killing of her husband.

There seems to be a mystery whether or not she was in on it. Her son confessed to the entire crime but later recanted.
The story can be found on CNN

I recall a blurb mentioned here on our local news. I wondered why things took the many years that passed to give that case another look.

..because everyone believes the guilty verdict and pushes it aside.
This is in all of the NYC Local News.
A wrong-fully convicted woman, Malisha Blyden spent seven years in prison on an attempted murder conviction before it was dismissed on March 11. However she was completely innocent. Blyden never laid eyes on the man she was accused of setting up to be attacked with gunshots to his chest and stomach. With the help of a fellow inmate, Blyden fought her way out. Previously, she has written to President O. & Oprah to help set her free & now wants payback from the city for years in prison.

She deserves a fair trial....I had heard on the news that her son had confessed that he did it via letters....which were not admitted as evidence during the trial.

Oh and CNN has a series on people who were wrongfully convicted and on death row....really scary to think of how many innocent people are in prison.
