Re: Josie wears her mascara to sleep

I worked with a girl whose husband told her he never wanted to see her without make up. She went to bed after him and got up before him. She took her make up camping with them. He was a white younger (40’s) man, so not a culture thing. He absolutely never wanted her to look anything but “perfect”. What a way to live. Geesh

Re: Josie wears her mascara to sleep

@San Antonio Gal   I reached out to Josie on her Facebook page a couple of years ago and suggjested that she offer an argan oil for your lashes.

Bottom line, she explained that her mascara was as much a treatment for your lashes as much as a beauty product.  It is quite nourishing, or rather, it has been for my senior, sparse lashes.

While I don't care for the mascara per se, I use a baby toothbrush after I apply to keep it from clumping.

I have often worn it overnight.  I have VERY sensitive eyes and go to an eye specialist every 6 months.  This mascara has never once cause any ill effects, and, it has improved my lashes somewhat.

And for the poster who always asked if you work for Josie if you give her products a good review - no, I don't work for her or her company.  I am a retired, old southern lady who enjoys a little make up even now.

Josie stated many times that her mascara is 24 hour mascara and can be slept in because it has conditioning properties.

Her mascara is not like other mascaras on the market that are more drying.  While I don't like her mascara, it has a totally different "feel" to it than anything else I ever tried.

@Lipstickdiva

I agree.  Her mascara doesn't make your eyelashes feel like spikes. It is very conditioning and I've often worn it overnight.

I like it and since I've been using it, I can't go to another mascara that leaves you looking like someone has glued a brush on your lashes.   It's very natural looking and at my age, I like that.

@Unhooked42

I had to laugh when I read your post.  I have oftentimes slept in her mascara.  Thankfully, it is not drying because there is oil in it.  I like it very much because it does contain oil, but yes, you definitely look like a raccoon when you get up the next morning.  Smiley LOL

I  don't sleep in it every night, nor do I use it as a serum, but I have slept in it with no adverse affects.

@Georgiagrama Look at the ingredients. There is hardly any oil in there. Just because the name says oil, doesn't mean the product contains much.
If you want to wear it to bed, that's great. But it is not good for the lashes or nourishing because of oil.

Argan Black Oil Mascara: Aqua (Water), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Sucrose Stearate, Propanediol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oryza Sativa Bran Cera (Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax), C18-36 Acid Triglyceride, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, PhenoxyethanolHydroxyethylcellulose, Myrica Pubescens Fruit Cera (Myrica Pubescens Fruit Wax), Silica, Panthenol, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Laureth-21, Glycerin, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract (Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract), Potassium Sorbate. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77499)

Argan oil is in the list below the 1% line. There is less than 1% oil in the product.

Re: Josie wears her mascara to sleep

Don't you think it would be better to wash your face (& eyes from any makeup) at night and then treat your lashes to plain old argan oil?

I don't believe for a second that she wakes up with longer & fuller lashes due to wearing her mascara at night. Most of the time she wears false eye lashes.

@Harpa  I'm not so sure I'd want to put straight argan oil on my lashes.  I can only imagine it migrating into the eyes.

I don't care what it does, I need for my face to be clean at night. I also wouldn't want all of that stuff on my sheets and pillow cases every morning either.....

Re: Josie wears her mascara to sleep

I can't imagine wearing mascara to bed. My eyes always seem kind of tired at the end of the day and it feels good to take off the mascara. Plus I always thought that was the right thing to do.

Re: Josie wears her mascara to sleep

Her mascara always left a hot mess on my face, I really hated it. The best mascara in the world for me is Lancome, period. Seperates, lengthens and does not clump. JM is Clump City.
