I've been with long bangs since I was 25. Nearly 40 years later and my hair is thinning and bangs acting up like a cowlick. Stylist wants to cut based on intention. I'm letting them grow and trying to do an up flip on the one side. Sigh.

Side parts are not in or out of style... It depends on your hair and your head.  And of course personal preference.
