How can I make my BLUE eyes turn GREEN?

Started 1275787074.06 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1276053976.363 by Spunkyspouts

My eyes are blue but i am told they can change to a greenish color.

My dad's eyes will do this too. i actually didn't know mine would do this until recently!

anyway, what makes my blue eyes change to green? maybe when i wear green?

do certain eyeshadow or eyeliner colors also help to change the blue to green?

thank you.

My sister's blue eyes can look green depending on what she wears. If she wears green or warm blues (like turquoise), her eyes look green. It works with eye makeup and with clothing, though it's more noticeable when she wears clothing those colors.

thanks. i figured it had more to do with what color of clothing i was wearing.

funny i am just finding this out about my eye color!

I have been told that purple eyeshadows will make your eyes look more green. I have one from Jane Iredale called "SuperNova" and they make my eyes really pop. Just this past week at the MAC counter, the woman told me the same thing.

I have teal eyes, as does my daughter. Purple (either eye make up or clothing close to the face) makes them look more green. Bronze/brown makes them look blue.

rebel, the MAC eyeshadow that I bought was called "Blackberry" a matte plum color and "Yogurt" a light pink for highlighter. Always use a light touch with shadows and blush. I use a brush to apply. I build the color until it looks right.

ok. i will have to check those mac colors out. unfortunately, the closest counter is about an hour and a half away.

i think i do better in warm purples as opposed to cool purples.

i have a matte eyeshadow called heather from bb and it is a purple. i am going to revisit that one!

i am really just trying to find out what makes my eyecolor change to green by itself.

for instance, is it a certain color of clothing?

or can a certain color of eyeshadow aid in making my eyes look more green?

no contacts for this girl!! LOL

I have a friend like that, she has the most awesome eyes, sometimes blues, sometimes green, sometimes gold. She says it changes with the clothes she wears and her shadow.

My eyes are brown but it really brings out the green when I wear olive tones. Well that or a bad case of allegeries, but blood shot eyes don't look so good no matter what the color, lol.

I also believe that it is effected by the lighting. I have had people say to me in the sunlight, oh, I didn't know you have green eyes.

I have blue eyes too. Once a Bobbi Brown MUA put Heather long wear cream eyeshadow on me and my eyes looked green. It is a soft greyish lavendar shade.

My eyes also switch colors depending on what I am wearing -- blue or green. To make my eyes appear more green I use a Clinique eye shadow called "like mink" (it comes in a kit that QVC sells along with a blush and lipgloss). It really makes the green pop. I also use a "brown topaz" eyeliner that Almay makes. These colors really work well together to bring out the green in my eyes.

You can't with the exception of colored contacts or some medications that have an effect on eye color. Eye colors do not change with moods despite some peoples claims.

I like my blue eyes! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Besides, blue eyes are more rare than brown. I don't know the stats on green eyes.

My eyes are a very bright blue but when I wear purple eyeliners on the bottom lid, they definately look green. I like that, I have been doing this for the past 20 years whenever I want green eyes.

Everyone in my immediate family was/is blue-eyed including me. So when a college boyfriend commented on my green eyes, I just about knocked him unconscious. How could he not know my eye color?

He did, I didn't. At some point in college (age 19, maybe?) my eyes turned green. Didn't see it coming. Didn't notice when it happened. Freakish, I tell you.

So, assuming you're normal, continue to play with colors of eye makeup and clothing and be happy with your blue eyes. Blue eyes are wonderful. (Except on dogs. I still like those Milk Dud eyes on dogs. Call me traditional, I guess...)

My philosophy: Dogs are God's most perfect creatures. Angels, here on Earth, who teach us to be better human beings.

Have you tried a green eye liner with green shadow? Avon has a nice green shadow kit for $12.00

Totally agree with this. My eyes are the exact same color as cassiem's sister and these colors in clothing in eye makeup change my eyes from blue to green.

My blue eyes turn green if I don't get enough sleep, or if I fall asleep with my contacts in. I think it has something to do with the whites of my eyes being red or bloodshot.

first let me say that i am happy with my blue eyes, very happy!!

however, if like, my father my eyes can change color, why not find out what can help to make that happen?

The compliment of green is red. So if you put a red-violet, violet or blue-violet eyeshadow on--it will bring out the green.

It's not that the eye color is actually changing, but the iris of the eye usually contains several different shades of one or two colors. My blue eyes have an azure blue and a grayish blue in them. If I wear certain colors, my eyes look like a tropical ocean blue, other colors make them look steely gray. It's not that my eye color has changed per se, but wearing certain colors makes some of the colors in my eye more prominent.

My sister and has blues and greens in her eyes. Depending on what she wears, her eyes can look very green or very blue. It's not that her eyes change color, but the clothing can bring out the green or the blue that she has in her eyes.

cassiem,

yes, that is what i am referring too. you explained it well.

i will need to pay attention to which colors can bring out the green in my eyes.

i think certain shades of green (clothing) will help to bring out the green.

thanks,

rebel

I have green eyes but when I wear Duwop Amber Eyes everyone thinks my eyes are blue. I agree that a copper color eyeshadow will make your eyes look blue while a purple or gray shade will bring out the green.

my eyes are very green and purple shadow is THE single most effective way i have found to really heighten the green hues, other than colored contacts.
