marks left on chest from patches that tested the heart--don't know what to call them, tape?

If it's actual tape or otherwise sticky, I would try isopropyl alcohol, or a non-stick cooking spray, perhaps cooking oil or lotion.
If it's just marks, they will fade in time on their own.

I always use baby oil to get any type of tape residue off my skin but I'm sure any other oil would work.

I would rub some olive or coconut oil on the residue, let it sit for a minute, then use a warm washcloth. Hope that works...and that your tests results are good.

Your post reminded me......Iast year after a test not only did I have an awful time removing the residue I had a horrible allergic reaction to the adhesive.
I had giant, raised, itchy round welts all over my chest!!!! I was SOOO uncomfortable for days. Lesson learned!
