@wagirl I feel like I didn't sleep well when my REM sleep is longer than usual. Seems I "remember" that time and I don't think you remember deep sleep!
That happens when I take Magnesium before bedtime!
I take it in the early evening and I sleep well.

@Zhills --I have been taking magnesium too--the glycinate for sleep--but doesn't seem to do much----have taken it early in the day as well as before bed. Not much difference. Have taken bigger mg and then smaller ones too---and it's been many months not just for a few weeks---have adjusted my diet and activity levels. Don't nap and made adustments in my bedroom---but I do live in a stupid noisy apartment complex with neighbors that SLAM the front doors at all hours and not just once or twince--but most times over 20 times a day--what in the H--LL are they doing to go in and out so many times in a short time frame--I have no idea!!!
I really don't understand the types of sleep you go thru at night so need to really look into that.

@bikerbabe --oh absolutely --all you mentioned are playing a huge part --I realize that---am doing many things about it too. But it all takes time-----the hard part is waiting--------

@wagirl Another thing I did to help me sleep was use music!
If i played familiar music, I would sing along in my head!
Problem solve!!!
I bought a music CD by Karunesh (he's not the only artist that does this) called Sky's Beyond.
It is beautiful, relaxing music with a tune you can't "sing along" to! You listen...and that is relaxing and I fell asleep easier!
Far fetched? Hey, it worked! That's all that mattered!
Lots of easy listening music on Amazon Music!

@Zhills --I do have a fan on, for the white noise aspect of it and for me, talk radio, when turned down low enough so I don't understand what is being said--works for me sometimes---believe me, I have tried it all---used to listen to a soft jazz station here in town that was wonderful but they left years ago---I'm not much of a music person. Never have been. Don't know why----but I will look into that CD--you never know!! thanks---

That whole thing about thinking you barely slept but the tracker says 6+ hours...yeah, I’ve had that too. I also deal with chronic insomnia and sometimes it just feels like I was up all night, even if I actually wasn’t.
I’m doing CBT and on top of that I’ve added medical cannabis treatments to my routine and now it’s one of the only things that’s really helped me get proper rest without the foggy head in the morning
