@wagirl.  Have you ever had a sleep study done?  It's something you should discuss with your doctor and is covered by most insurance.  You may have issues of which you're not aware that could cause long term health problems.

@Harpa --I tried Nakery mag body cream--just got it this past week in fact, but it has valerian as well as melatonin in it and both those ingredients  I just can't handle, makes me feel too rummy in the a.m. Same thing when I tried them as a supplement---Tried it a few times, with  same results----

@Kachina624 --there is no sleep study for insomnia---have seen a dr at a sleep clinic  just a month ago. she confirmed that. Already know I don't have apnea and really that is what a sleep study is for.

I would ask my doctor for a sleep study. If you feel that you don't sleep well only a sleep study will give you the right answers. You could have a sleep disorder and think it is something else. It is so important to our health to take care of our sleep.

yeah tranquilizers have pros and cons. Definitely not safe for everyone and your situation must be evaluated by your doc or a specialist. You are indeed a delicate flower. 🥰  are you under a Dr care for those palpitations

I have chronic insomnia--have for the last 4 years, especially,  due to some major life changes but have never been a great sleeper in my life. Am doing some CBT , a type of therapy, and the other suggested things too. I tried to track my sleep with my apple watch--but it is not easy to get set up--for me anyway---and I hate wearing anything on my wrist in bed. So I found and bought a ring that will track most everything the watch can, only from your finger. Didn't buy the ones that were hundreds of $$----but found a very reasonable priced one from AMZ. Got one night tracked but forgot to set it up for last night---The first nights results were very interesting--said I got 6 1/2 hrs of sleep--normal----WHAT??? I wish I got that many hours EVERY night---good grief----guess I just need to keep going on this---is very comfortable to wear tho. Woman Frustrated

@smoochy --oh yes--these pesky heart burps have been with since I was 40---am 70 now. Went to nearly all the heart drs at this practice I go to, during the last 30 years--all of them told me--- THEY WON'T KILL YOU!!! But still don't have a name for it. I do take a beta blocker to keep them at bay.
Can't do any caffiene at all and some meds--well most of the ones I've tried, have messed with these palps.. Not afraid of it, just is very uncomfortable and interrupts my sleep. Woman Frustrated

If I take a Magnesium tablet at night, I will get more REM sleep but it is not a "restful" sleep.

I do well if I take it earlier in the day.... actually get better sleep....all types of sleep!

A glass of salty water helps!!!!

Just a pinch in a small glass of water!  Yep, it does!

I have a Amazfit and it has Alexa on it...with "Emergency Help" included.
