@bargainsgirl, my husband was taking Atorvastatin and began experiencing pains. He was then told to take 400 of CoQ10. Pains still continued. Then one of his buddies as the gym was raving about Repatha. His doctor then prescribed that. The pains have gone away. His Lipid greatly improved. His LDL went from 90 to 36.

Anyone that takes a statin needs to read the book Cholesterol Clarity by Jimmy Moore with Eric C. Westman, MD. You will run, not walk, away from that statin that has terrible side effects and is doing absolutely nothing to prevent a stroke or heart attack. Big Pharma is lying to you. Learn as much as you can about what causes strokes and heart attacks (it's not cholesterol, it's inflammation) and take control of your own health.

Just wondering .... has anyone had success with Andrew Lessman's Cholestacare?

@wagirl Oh shucks....you're welcome. I just wanted to let you know I am a sister with lipid problems too. It's challenging when it's genetic. No meds for it so Repatha is the best that's available now.Luckily,my insurance approved it and my copay is $47. My cardiologist says if any trials come up for lipoprotein treatment, she would submit me for consideration.Um...not so sure. I'm kinda of chicken. If I was brave,I would take a GLP!. Instead,I fight the good fight with diet and exercise combined with the meds that help. I no longer take a statin so hoping my A!C goes down with the metformin. I just want to age as healthy as possible so I'm willing to consider as many options as possible.
BTW,I am orginially from NY and lived in Bellingham for 2 years. I graduated from WWU then took a year off and worked for the youth corps of the Park Service. We did trail maintenance on Orcas Island and Cascade National Park. I still have a good buddy in Bham and visit every once and awhile. I hated to leave but bad economy so i had to go where the jobs were.
Fight on,friend!![]()

I tried the max dosage for 1 year and had no change. I also take the chocolate but that's because I enjoy it, not for cholesteral. I figured if any supplement could make a difference, it would be one of Andrew's.
My doctor said I'm one of those people who have higher numbers from genetics, not lifestyle. They were not excessive, but slightly over.
She's aware I eat very healthy, close to vegan, and have exercised daily most of my life. I ran 4-6 miles daily when I worked. Now I walk and ride a spin bike.
In short, my cholesteral is unmoved by diet and/or exercise. Right now, I take a very low dose of generic Lipitor and don't notice any side affects other than being a bit stiff now and then.

For 20 years it kept me off of drugs, but as I got older it failed me, my doc said mine must be inherited cholesterol and nothing will keep it away except real RX, so now I take Zetia, a non statin.

@Estates --ok this is getting strange--in a good way-😗-I was born in Jamestown NY, left when I was a baby and moved to Wa state with the folks . I know the areas you mentioned. Not WWU or the youth corps but have been to the places you mentioned. I now live in Redmond but was in Woodinville for 35 years.
There is another type of injectable called Liqvio that is 2 -a -year after 2 initial doses. It is done at a drs office tho. I may be headed to that course if the repatha doesn't do its job. Right now I have a grant that pays for the repatha totally for a year. And I would consider any trials--I think??!!! Yup--this getting old, ain't for sissies!!!

@Tinkrbl44 - now that I read and follow the directions 2 capsules before or right after eating my cholesterol dropped to normal range from originally 211 first time in many years. I take Rosuvastatin 5mg at night.
