Re: shoulder surgery anyone?

Good news @on the bay..

Hopefully you get the recovery you want.

A therapist (she did my initial appointment to evaluate me) asked me what my goal was, I said 100%...she did not say if that was possible or not, but my 1st actual appointment (different therapist) was yesterday so we will see how it goes.

 I can get on my chart and read notes of my visit.  I was a bit taken aback/miffed, I jokingly asked about getting my nails done....just making conversation.    I don't have enough strength to do my toes or nails and she commented in the notes I COMPLAINED because I could not do my nails.  I was not complaining and can not believe she put that in writing...next visit will be strictly professional, no chit chat with her.

Wishing you good luck.

@Mom2Dogs,

Oh I hate that kind of thing. she sounds like she has no sense of humorSmiley Sad

I really appreciate a dr who writes accurate notes and that is not so common. I always read them too and if there is someting incorrect, I will write them back and correct it. I might even say something to her the next visit.

I hope your pt goes ok. I think pt is hit or miss and very difficult to find a really good one! If I feel like they are just doing what they do for anyone and don't seem to be really thoughtful about how to help me, I'll go one or 2 times and ask to have exercises I can take home. That's what I did last year. I mean I just love driving someplace 2 times a week right?! No, especially when things hurt. Anyway thank you for all your experiences. It makes me feel like we are going togetherSmiley Happy I hope you get a good one. Sometimes they change every few appts.

Re: shoulder surgery anyone?

I went through something similar last year and totally get the frustration with finding a PT who actually listens instead of just going through the motions.

Re: shoulder surgery anyone?

Back in about 2005 my mom had her shoulder replaced with worn out ball removed and a metal one was put in.  She had no problems whatsoever and never complained about after it was over.  But she had had both hips replaced, one of which was done twice since the first one wore out from 1983 to 2011.  She was pretty much used to having to replace parts of her body.

I hope it goes well for you.
