Thank you![]()
I did delete all the details, (too long!) I had already done all that a year ago when my ladder fell over with me in it.- pt and everything for months. It was better until a recent lung surgery, a ct showed a broken rib and my shoulder showed the bone where it had fx over a year ago was deteriorating-no blood, torn tendons and rotator. This all happened after the surgery. I wonder if they slammed me down on the table.
Anyway, it's called a bone infarction and doesn't heal so I'll see what the orthopaedist says. I just don't want another surgery still getting thru the last recently.
A friend described her shldr replacement to me-it just all sounds awful. So gross. Who knew bones need blood?! I just don't want to go thru anything more. I'm pretending its not my arm!
I know many here have been through this and more. I'm always amazed at people's bravery and everything.

Wow @GoneButNotForgotten!
Yes that was me the first time-the ladder was as high as the ceiling and i fell with it on my left. Would you not consider a shoulder replacement either?
I just don't want anymore.

@on the bay ---Oh--- I can fully understand about not wanting more surgery!!I Am still getting over a broken ankle from Oct 2022. It is healed but still am hurting from it and looking at possibly having the plates and screws removed--dr said it was a possiblity in the future----geez
---but he said it would not be as traumatic as the repair was----also went thru breast cancer with 2 mastectomies and didn't want to reconstruct due to the many surgeries involved---I have a SIL who has had 3 knee replacements--yes 3----2 on one knee due to an infection in the replacement--agony!! But maybe you need to research more after you see the dr and find out what he/she says. You have to weigh the pluses and the minuses---- good luck and keep us posted---

I have had both shoulders replaced about 9 and 10 years ago due to rheumatoid arthritis. I have also had knees and hips replaced. The shoulders were the easest of all of them. I had so much pain just from the weight of my arm hanging from my shoulder before surgery and I had no pain after surgery - except for during physical therapy.
It was inconvenient since my arm was in a sling for 6 weeks after surgery so I couldn't hook my bra or do other things that required 2 arms. But it was well worth it!

Oh gosh @wagirl!
Yeah that is kinda what I'm feeling and talking about. Everything you went thru and are going thru and your sil, makes me cry. You wish it would all just go away.
Thankyou really for telling me.
You're still here and I'm glad!

wow @Nutzy!
You have been through the mill!
I've had lots of knee, wrist and other surgeries but always thought I could never would never want to have a replacement but it seems that is what a lot of people get.
Thank you for telling me. It's encouraging that the shldr was the easiest.
Unless as my daughter says to make us laugh-"Are you lying to make friends?" lol!![]()
Anyway all these experiences are helpful and I am less fearful.
(I think!
)

@Nutzy Curious if your shoulder replacements were the reverse kind? It seems like people do well in that situation.
We are talking about so many different shoulder injuries here. Frozen, rotator cuff, replacements 😜

@on the bay --very kind of you, thank you, but really--I am doing fine today as is my SIL----what doesn't kill you makes you stronger---that totally applies. I say that alot instead of getting weepy and feeling sorry for myself altho, I do that on occassion too. We all go thru tons of garbage, don't we? Just hope you can get some answers and relief for what ails you--it will be rough but hopefully will be a good outcome. ![]()

I am glad you are getting thru it![]()
I was so lucky to get an appointment today with the ortho surgeon I chose and my PC did also.
No surgery! You have never seen a more happy still in pain person go out of the office.
He explained everything and was so reassuring, even the bone blood loss, fluid etc etc but was so encouraging.
So start pt again! a year later again. Getting this done! And now I feel I can go thru the other stuff ok.
Thanks again to all for sharing your experiences both good and bad and onward to better health for us all!![]()
