panic attacks

I was at the Dentist yesterday getting two crowns done - by the end of the second hour and started to panic and started shaking. I got through it but it really scared me. I already take ativan once in while - called the Doctor today, he suggested a drug called Buspar - Has anyone have any opinion on this?
