I just read ths drug is same class as Mobic, I have known people who have taken Mobic before. These are NSAIDS.

Glad you are much better. I was on meloxicam for several years and taken off of it last September prior to my knee surgery. It helped me alot.

As mentioned, Meloxiocam is an NSAID, and was likely prescribed to reduce the inflammation in your hip.
You may deal with that inflammation long term, so this could be a medication prescribed for you, with take as needed directions and limited refills.

@Luvsmyfam You can take this long term. I've taken NSAIDs for many years and know others who have, too. If your doctor gave you a 30 day supply it's probably just to see if it helps. You can just call and ask for refills for long term use. If you quit using it, your pain will more than likely come back. I'm glad it's helping you.

@Luvsmyfam I really hope you'll google the side effects of Meloxicam. Only you and your doctors know your medical history, please don't think there aren't any potential serious side effects from long term use of Meloxicam and also other NSAIDS.

Just be careful about GI side effects. Make sure you take with food at a minimum to protect your gut.n
I got a matching pair of ulcers after being on the higher dose for two years, even when I took it with food. Now I can't take any NSAIDS.

This medication can help reduce pain ( I know have taken it twice).
However, it is a stronger anti-inflammatory then over the counter ones which in themselves can cause problems. So probably not a long term solution.
Meloxicam can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even people without heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking this medicine.Dec 1, 2020
