Does anyone suffer from lactose problems?  Trying not to be dairy free.

My husband is severely lactose intolerant. He takes over-the-counter pills to replace the digestive enzyme so that he can have cheese, ice cream, etc. We buy Lacraid milk and other products that will allow him to avoid digesting lactose. It is not a big problem.

I stopped having my skim milk and bowl of cereal for breakfast when I realized it was making me kind of nauseous for awhile after eating.  I did switch to eating only yogurt for breakfast and lunch, and my stomach is fine with that.  I can still eat cheese too.  I never did have the intestinal issues that some people get from it though.

I thought I was lactose intolerance too.....then I started buying "Organic Fat-Free" milk & no more problems.........it does cost more but it's worth it to me.

I've been lactose intolerant since I was a baby.  It has gotten worse with time.  Luckily now there are many lactose free products, even yogurt and cheese.  You will learn to read labels, especially baked goods if you are very sensitive.  I use lactaid milk and ice cream, but others prefer soy or almond milk.  Kosher products are good because they are scrupulous about listing dairy or not.  Good luck.

I use the enzyme tablets, too. I have found them to be very helpful to me. Smiley Happy

I've been lactose-intolerant since my mid-forties.  I used Lactaid milk and ice cream, and often Lactaid tabs when I really had a taste for something dairy.

This past year I've banished all dairy from my diet.  I started with almond milk, and then Rice Dream products, and lately pecan milk (really delicious) and coconut milk.  I don't have to take Lactaid tabs anymore.

I have to say I don't see that much difference in my inflammation levels, but I'll continue to stay away from dairy.  It might be doing some good internally.

I have never, in over 50 years, been able to use any dairy/nondairy product.  I found cashew milk made by Silk last week and decided to try it.

It's been a miracle for me.  I've used it the last 8 days in a row without any issues at all.

I think I'm in shock.  Hope they come out with yogurt, if they haven't already!!!
