heart valve replacement

[ Edited ]

I have heard that a friend has just gone through this surgury and I looked back in this forum for anyone else who has had this done and found our friend hckynut US's comment that really assured me.  He said basically:

Optimism is the only way to look at all medical issues.

so thank you John for your wisdom and I will keep praying for my friend.

My mom had a heart valve replacement about 25 ago. It changed her life for the better.

I hope your friend has the same results that my baby brother has had with his valve replacements and surgeries. (He has had 4 of them - the first when he was 10, he's now 63). The advancements are just amazing, prayers for you and your friend.

That is so true that advancements are just amazing, my son had his aortic valve replaced at 8 years old.  He should be one and done for the rest of his life.  The Star valve, titanium and plastic.

We celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday Smiley Happy.

hckynutjohn is no longer on these forums, but his wife is.  Perhaps she will convey your kind message to him.

Most can be done now thru the groin, so not nearly as invasive as before, with a short hospital stay.
