For several months I had a personal trainer who was extremely expensive .... $740 for 14 sessions. Well, I really had to pinch to be able to get this much $$ gathered together, especially since the economy had gone belly up and I'd lost about 45% of my investments. Well, then I hurt my knee, could barely walk, got orthotics for my shoes, and had to stop everything .... had surgery, P.T., cortisone shots, a round of 5 Hyalgen shots with little or no effect. I got a second opinion and this doctor said with everything that had been done I should not have gone into P.T. for 2 weeks and that my knee was highly inflamed and filled with fluid. He drained the fluid and gave me a cordisone shot. The next week, the swelling was down, it was no longer hot feeling, so he started another course of Hyalgen. I have 4 more shots til it's finished. He's very hopeful this will work this time since the inflammation is better and the fluid is gone.
Before I had to stop the Personal Trainer I had just paid her for the next 14 sessions ... there are about $500 left. I've written to her about it to see if she would return the remaining $500 as I honestly didn't know what her policy was, and I sure could use that $500 long about now. Well, she won't return it, but offered to continue my training with her to use it up. I am not about to do this. My doctor said that when I do get back to the Gym, which won't be til the end of April when the Hyalgen shots are over, to start carefully with 10 min. on the stationary bike, working up to 30-35 min. After that he said go to the eliptical and do the same routine - start at about 10 min. and work up to 30 min. At 66, I'm interested in the aerobic portion and I know the eliptical really works the core and the hips, thighs and legs ... my main problem areas.
I'm annoyed that she won't return the $500, but it's probably my own fault. I should have asked, or if it was in a paper I signed, I didn't read it. My loss I guess.
