dental implants

I need two dental implants. The dentist I saw uses laser and does not completely put the patient under but uses a "twilight" drug. I have been putting this procedure off and I know I have no choices. Have any of you had implants - especially with laser? My dental insurance does not cover implants and yet no other option is available. It is very costly. I appreciate any feedback.
