Do you have one? Are these easy to use?

I went to the gym yesterday, the calories burned display didn't work, I really wished I'd had a tracker. Might seem silly, I guess.

Is there a brand or model you would recommend, or one you would advise somone to steer clear of?

TIA

I love my Fitbit Versa.  I tried the Apple Watch but it was too complicated and required charging everyday.  My Fitbit can go 3-4 days without charging.  It syncs with the app on my phone but information is also displayed on the tracker itself.

@happycat  I had 2 Garmin Vivofit 2s over the years and now have a Garmin Vivofit 3 which I really like.  These don't have to be charged like the Fitbit and many others and the batteries last about a year or so and are easy to replace.  It's not a smart tracker that can take phone calls but I don't want that.  I wear mine 24/7.  It tracks steps, calories, miles, intensity as well as sleep.

I love my apple watch.  Very easy to use and automatically uploads info to my phone and vice versa.  So, if I'm not wearing my watch, my phone will capture info also (as long as I have it with me).

I have the Fitbit Inspire and am not enthusiastic about it.  I might check out @Pook‘s choice.

I used a Fitbit Flex for 4-5 years.  I dont need a lot of bells and whistles, but it definitely motivated me to be more active.  A month ago I treated myself to the Fitbit Inspire HR...love it!

I like having the time on my wrist (instead of dragging out my cell phone).  I like that each hour at 10 minutes before the next hour, it tells me to add

_ _ _ steps to achieve the 250 steps per hour recommended.  I like being able to check my heart rate at a glance. And I like the look of the Inspire HR...slim look and I bought the black face with white band...like the look and it goes with everything!

I bought a $25 one off of Amazon that does everything my Fitbit did for the most part. You may want to buy a cheap one to see if it's for you and then step up. They can be wonderful but you can also become a slave to it and let it really up your anxiety. I think mine is from Letscomm if you want to take a peek.

Re: activity trackers

@happycat

I do not use an electronic device to track my activities. What I do use are a Polar Chest Strap/Wrist worn Heart Rate Monitor/Oximeter and a Spirometer to track my Oxygen Saturation and my Lung Volumn Strength.

My regular workouts are all I need to track my vigorous activity level. Being retired I am not concerned how many hours I sleep, so for me the devices I mentioned above, along with my Blood Pressure Cuff, are all I need to monitor what I deem necessary for me to know.

I have a fitbit alta. Its a very simple model,doesn't give heart rate.  I love it. It keeps me moving every day. You would be surprised how motivational they are. Mine linked to my Tracfone smart phone instantly. I'm a techno knownothing so that was great.  Our son bought it for my birthday 2 years ago...best gift.

I bought a Fitbit Charge HR when they first came out. It worked great for five months and then the back fell off. Fitbit replaced it and the same thing happened with the second one. I gave up on Fitbits.

I now have a Garmin Vivoifit and like it better than Fitbits. No longer have to charge it.
