Re: When to Use Ice vs. Heat

I fell, breaking my wrist a couple of years ago walking on black ice.

Dr. performed surgery inserting a titanium plate.

I did physical therapy for about a month, could have gone longer but it's pricey and time consuming.

I had certain exercises to do, range of motion, stretching, etc.

At the end of my time for the day, the therapist would ice down my arm,   I couldn't imagine how that would help, I disliked the idea of being iced down (always thought heat was more therapeutic) but wow it did feel good.   And it was the right thing to do under the circumstances.

I will still to this day use an ice pack occasionally.
