I pee once because I take hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure at bedtime. Can't take it in the AM as usually too many commitments. Once a night getting up isn’t too bad.
Made me think about a good herbal recommended for men Saw Palmetto and I know it worked well to curb nighttime peeing. Think it has something to do with the prostate but wonder if it would work for women.

Right now - I usually walk around the house in my bare feet. Well my little toe came in contact with the folding stair to the attic. Guess I might have broken or damaged something. The little toe swelled up and turned black and blue. Wearing anything on my foot hurts and turned the top of my foot black and blue whenever I wore a shoe. Only one pair of shoes fit.
So when I try to sleep, even a sheet on my foot hurt. So

melatonin helps? I have Xanax prescribed to help with my insomnia and nighttime anxiety. It works great. But im trying not to take it any more. So many risks involved

no, you shouldn't take something to stop you from urinating. That would defeat the purpose of your "water pill"- to reduce the fluid volume in your system so that your blood pressure doesn't get high. Your problem is that you are taking the med at night. Should always be taken in the morning or at least no later than 2 pm

Worrying. I'm a big worrier and my mind has a hard time shutting off if I have any issues or stresses.
I can usually go to sleep fine but seem to always wake up around 3AM and find myself over thinking and ruminating about things sometimes it's about stresses in life sometimes it's about silly stuff. It can sometimes take me hours to get back to sleep.
Also, do you eat a lot of sugar? I find that if I eat a lot of sugar my finger joints, especially, will stiffen during the night. I could see that stiffness could progress to pain if not addressed.
Sugar is a big inflammatory. Once I gave that up for the most part (I said for the most part....I'm no zealot, haha) I find that I no longer have those issues, but they will return when I eat a lot of sugar....

@smoochy wrote:For me it's arthritis pain, mostly left shoulder and right ankle. Sometimes hands and knees.Random thoughts, thinking about stuff i need to do, my husband's snoring, having to let my dog out. Usually around 0300 I get up, eat pop tarts with my dog, take Tylenol. Can usually go to sleep after that but then it's hard to get up.
It's a nightly routine.
What are your nightly issues?
@smoochy Have you tried Arthritis Strength Tylenol at bedtime? It's stronger than Extra Strength Tylenol and time released so that it lasts 8 hours. It works well for the arthritis pain in my hands and wrists that used to wake me up. Just a suggestion.
Do you take this daily?
