Thank you! Had you tried any other statins before this one? Glad you are doing well!

I can certainly commiserate with you! Having the terrible tendonitis issues myself, this gives me all the more reasons to be so fearful of these drugs. If I didn't have them, I don't believe I would be half so scared of them. At least your dr. is willing to try natural things and that's a big positive! Best wishes to you!

I know a lot of drs. are quick to jump even if the numbers are the least little bit up. I appreciate the concern but I think it's good to not be so quick to always pop a pill.

You can't ignore it when you have taken statins before and they have given you such extreme pain in your ankles, legs and arms that you can't even walk or even lift a coffee cup! I am glad that your experience with a statin has been nothing but positive, but it's not that way for some of us. We are not all as fortunate as you! And furthermore --- I am not lazy -- I may have a lot of health issues currently, but I have always done a lot of walking and done as much physical activity as I can.

My husbands total was 202, so just over.
Everything with this doctor is a pill because it's a "little high" so she prescribed Atorvastatin the generic for Lipitor.
You have no idea what it did to his blood sugar and we are still trying to get it back to where it had been.
I worked in an office with about 100 people and at least 20 of them were put on statins and 16 of them became pre diabetic or diabetic and also got pancreatitis. Some foolishly went back on it after going off it because of the pancreatitis and were given a drug for the pre diabetic condition and that stuff probably caused strokes in all 6 of them! Seems too many of them to be a coincidence!!
Oh, boy --- that's scary. Diabets runs in my family, too. Thanks for sharing this.

I agree about being our own advocate. Some here probably think I don't listen to doctors. I do, but I also research and take all my factors into consideration, as well. I have caught doctors in mistakes. They don't want to admit that they aren't perfect. Granted, they have the degree but they're still just human.
