Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone!  Hope everyone is safe and well.

Do you notice that certain foods that you've eaten all of your life start to bother your stomach?  I knew that milk wasn't my friend anymore but now I'm gonna add cabbage to the list.  I made a really good soup the other day with cabbage being the main ingredient.  Yesterday, I was greedy and got a second helping.  My stomach is bloated like I ate at a buffet.  I'm not in pain but I'm very uncomfortable.  Gas, lol.

Today is Zumba day and I'm supposed to do a WW 5K walk afterwards.  I only slept one hour and eight minutes according to my Fitbit so I'm from at my best but hopefully, I'll follow through.  The group is small and they will be expecting me.

@bopper, I have a video of when my granddaughter was being cleaned up and my son holding her!  What a moment!  He and my dil have been very good with sending me videos and pictures.  They change and grow so quickly.

Everybody have a great day.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning, all.

My niece and her daughter made it to Arkansas yesterday from Daytona, Fla.  She said this was the scariest experience she's ever had.  Waiting in line for gas and then bumper to bumper traffic praying you didn't run out of gas.  At first, she was going to Atlanta to stay with my son but then found out that going towards Georgia wasn't the best idea.

@MickD that Total Gym can give a great workout.  I used to try using it since hubby already had it here when we got married.

I did my little 5K WW walk yesterday along with Zumba class.  It's fun walking while you talk when everyone has the same goal.  At the health center, I usually prefer walking alone because the other person slows me now....not that I'm that fast, lol.

WW meeting this morning and maybe walk the track.  Stay safe everyone.

@Mmsfoxxie, yay that niece and her family got out of FL. Fingers crossed that her home fares well. This storm is a biggie, for

I did a cardio workout today on treadmill, elliptical, and bike. Will try hard to keep this going 3 days a week. I still find my library work days to be difficult enough to count as a workout of low intensity but long duration. So, for now, I'll be satisfied with doing cardio 3 days a week.

Oh, my @Laura14, I just heard a tropical storm warning has been issued for your area, first time ever. Fingers crossed that structures there withstand the high wind. Be careful the next few days. I don't know when it will arrive, but I hope your work place will close if it seems unsafe for employees to commute.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@nomless  My exercise for the day is bringing in my refugee patio and porch furniture which is now camped all over my living room.  I am debating hiking today.  We'll see.

I am hoping it's okay enough for me to run up the street and clock in tomorrow and then I'll work from home.  If I don't clock in, I don't get paid.  Smiley Sad  I have too many bills to shorten my work week after medical stuff and an impulse buying splurge on some new purses.

We are hoping for just a bad nasty storm day.  They keep tracking the storm farther and farther west but Irma is so huge they keep telling us it doesn't matter.  So, I'm ready!  Bring it on!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Happy Sunday Funday everyone, hubby and I went hiking this morning in a very pretty area, waterfalls and lots of greenery.  He's doing so good, there was lots of up and down and he did great.  It was about 4 miles, it's sunny and only in the 60's so perfect weather.

Yes we are also praying for Florida and anyone else in the path of Irma, my family has homes there as well and many of our friends.

DrKelli I wasn't aware of the Survivor thread, I"ll look for it.

Laura I hope you don't get it too bad, be careful!

Nomless you have a good plan in place, lots of mixing it up!

Foxxie glad your niece and her daughter made it safely, nothing to mess with for sure!  Walking and chatting always makes the time go faster too.  Sounds like a nice day yesterday.

MickD TG workouts are good, I haven't done one in a long time as it seems to always bother my rotator cuff and I develop bad knots in my upper back, not sure why.  Been doing the reformer though.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning...happy Monday everybody.  Let's hope this Florida storm is the last one for a long, long time.  Whew!

Let's see....today will be Senior Express and Body & Motion  classes.  A nice mix of cardio and weight training.  Might do a short walk if I get there before my first class.

Seventeen pounds down, about ten to go.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning, all!  I hope those in Irma's path are doing okay this morning.

My usual this week--Quick Fit today, small group tomorrow.  I am teaching a section of the sampler class on Wednesday--I'll be doing 4 LaBlast songs--a disco, a paso doble, a jive and a west coast swing.  I haven't practiced much since my mom was here, so I need to be listening to that music every waking moment!

@Mmsfoxxie, nice job on the weight loss!

I have a meeting in 30 minutes that I am not prepared for, so I'll try to get back later!
