Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Some people are so unaware--you see it all the time at the airport.  They will just stop for no apparent reason right in front of you--where there is a lot of WALKING!!  I've gotten on my mom about it.  If you are going to stop, at least get to the side out of people's way.

@nomless  You're so sweet.  Thank you!  I am in North Georgia so it probably won't reach my area until Monday with what they are forecasting right now.  They just don't know how it will go over FL or if it will stay in the water so no telling how bad it will be when it gets up this way.  I prepped days ago though.  Been there, never went to go through it again.  Hopefully just some big wind and lots of rain.  It can keep the bad stuff out to sea.

Yep, I would guess it will weaken considerably by the time it reaches you. Still hoping it will stay east in the ocean and spare US states.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, I am praying for all of those in Florida and up the Eastern coast.  Laura please know we are thinking of you during this time.   We have friends in Florida as many people do and it doesn't look good!

I have awesome news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I can no officially say I have a brand NEW grandson!  Yup, born yesterday September 6th at 12:21 pm weighing in at 5# 15 oz, and 19 inches long!   He is perfect and beautiful and we are so in love with him.  Just wished we could be there but it's much to far for us to travel and hubby isn't cleared for travel  yet either but we love him so much!   She was 3 weeks early because of Preeclampsia but everything has turned out so well!

This morning was cold and rainy and I did 50 minutes on the Xbike and some gentle yoga stretches.  Walked Logan on the trail, which was quite muddy.  Leaves are turning here and the weather guy said it's because of our cold nights.

Whose watching Football?  We are!   I've seen geese flying South already and it's early for that, even for us!

Thinking of all who are in the path of this storm, God Bless!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  @bopper, congratulations on the new grandson!  So good to know that he arrived in perfect health and I'm assuming that mom is fine as well.  Make sure they take lots of pictures and videos for you.  My son has sent me some almost daily of my granddaughter.  To see the changes is amazing.

@Laura14 and @DrKelli, I know exactly what you mean about people invading your space in exercise class.  There is one in my Monday class.  Even if I put my weights there she will get too close.  When we start using the weights, imend of moving over.  I pick that spot for reasons....near the mirror, the fan and the instructor.  I like the front row, too.  When using weights, space is a must.  I'm thinking about asking the instructor to make a general announcement asking people to be aware of how close they are to others.  Another thing is some people start to exercise in their area but have no sense that they've floated over to their neighbors space.  I try not to let it ruin the experience.

Senior cardio this morning.  Irma is on my mind but I can't talk about it too much right now.  Enjoy your day.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie  I thought the same thing.  I know class had already started and you want people to solve their own adult problems but I thought the instructor should have said a little something even if it was a subtle something like there was plenty of room up front and on the sides and yes she took a shower that day.  It can be done.

I am so sore from that chest track that I did normal weight on yesterday.  I'm actually a little proud of myself.  I am probably going to go out and cut my lawn tonight after work and take in anything I think might fly on Monday.

Irma shifted a bit more west but the Atlanta area is still expected to get major wind and rain.  My biggest fear is tornadoes.  People never think about that but hurricanes spin off tornados right and left.  That was the scariest part of Andrew.  I remember the radio guy couldn't keep up with all of the reports and finally just said, live in a safe part of your home for the next 10 hours and don't come out.  I remember being close to under my dorm room bed for my safe place.

My mother has decided to stay with Mickey down in FL because of gas and traffic.  I hope she gets a good scare like I did so she never plays with something like this again.  She had three houses to choose from 6 hours away from any of her kids and stays put in danger.  People need to think about what they put their families through when they make a stupid choice like that.  She's retired, it's an easy 6 hour drive, just do it.

Anyway, better topic!  Best wishes to all the new little ones.  I almost expect to hear about a playdate between the new little girl and new little boy but I won't matchmake them quite yet.  Smiley Wink

I hope everyone has a great Friday!  TGIF!!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, thank you on the good wishes for my new grandson!  We are just so happy, our hearts are full.   I hope they send pictures and videos, I have asked and get the "yeah we'll try" routine..  and I say "no you WILL"  Hahaha

I understand the exercise space thing too.  I used to teach classes and I was up on a stage while the rest was down on the floor and I'd notice people moving closer to their neighbor, not intentionally but they seem to just slowly get over.  I would mention it though and say to watch your space so you don't run into someone else.    It's a different story though when they realize it and still do it.

Laura I think I"ll go do my grass too.  I walke this morning and don't have all my goal steps in so will go push the mower and stack more wood.  Hubby can't do any stacking yet but I just do a little at a time with the wheel barrow and slowly it will get done. I think your mom should have left, just my thought and I sure can understand your frustration.  Praying she is safe!

Lucy you doing okay, we are always thinking and praying for you and your family!  Wishing you a happy weekend!

Nomless are you a Survivor watcher?   I saw that is starting up again, we love that show.  I did watch Battle of the Network stars last night, we laughed because hubby and I though "they look old"  and they are our age Hahah...see we  "never" age!!! Smiley Happy

MickD are you on the trials?   Fall trail hiking is my all time favorite time!

Waving to all!

foxxie hope your weekend is good.
