@Mmsfoxxie I am 50 and I am listening to my body. I started long distance running when I was 16. I slowly tapered the weekly distance over the years, and was just happy to be running...pfft.... jogging now. I'm not gonna mess around anymore...Total Gym it is until......however long.

Oh, I hate it when my day starts off wrong @Laura14. Your place sounds like what I've heard about Anytime Fitness with the card scanning. I almost joined but I'm so glad I found this health center...fits my needs perfectly.
Good morning everyone! Today is sunny but isn't expected to get higher than 69 degrees. When I was working as an Instructor Ass't/Teacher Ass't, the first day of school was always hot and hectic. Well, I'll bet it's still hectic. Students enrolling, students transferring, parents all over the place. Life goes on.
Body & Sculpt, Flexibility and maybe a walk. Sometimes I think I need to exercise as much as possible in a day and other times I think the body is only going to accept so much in a given day. Recovery time is important, too.
Let the day begin!

Laura, aggravation, right? Enjoy the rest of your day.
Hi, Mick. You have a good day, too.
Foxxie, I do well balancing with eyes open, too, but eyes closed, I'm worse than you. In fact, for those in 60's, with eyes closed the average is about 3 seconds. So you're ability to do 10 seconds is very good!
Hi to Bopper and Lucy and all our friends. I hope health issue have resolved and that you your families had a fun holiday.

Good morning, all!
It looks like you've been very busy in the first 5 days of September! NOLA was hot and muggy and we had rain almost every day (outer bands of Harvey). Attendance was down by about 1000--most of those from Texas who could just not get there. It was a good conference and I came home with some new ideas. Unfortunately, I am so far behind and will be playing catch up for at least 2 weeks before I can start processing the new stuff!
The Zumba class at the conference had 8 people--I'm sure it would have had more if they would have advertised it properly. My company's cash contribution wasn't even recognized. So I'm a little mad about that.
I'm going to try to get to my small group training today. The only exercise I got last week was a lot of walking (and one day of Zumba). The air quality has been terrible because of the wildfires. I hope the firefighters can make some headway. There are so many burning.
Have a great day, everyone!

@DrKelli Glad to see you! I was thinking about you this morning and wondering if you were treading water in the Gulf. Glad you got back safe and sound and somewhat dry!

Hi everyone! I'm back from the dead...literally...lol. Had a heck of a week, wouldn't even know where to start and much of it is a blur. My pilates instructor was asking which night I spent in the hospital and I literally don't know. I'd post the pictures(Specialists want photos when I'm like that) but it would scare the you-know-what out of everyone, maybe for Halloween.
Very bad week...next!
I can't believe it's Tuesday already! We went from morning to night yesterday, felt so good to shower and get my pajamas on last night. We walked Lucy early then showered and headed out to a Festival at the Fairgrounds, went to a nice hiking/kayaking/beach park and got plenty of fresh air and exercise, met kids for a late lunch, came home let the dogs out then we all went golfing...of course I am probably the only person that can manage to get injured while golfing, but I did! ![]()
And DS grabbed his stomach after one hard swing and I thought for sure he ripped his stitches open(oh yeah, that was another stressor in our crazy week but this will already be too long), my stomach jumped into my throat. Other than that, it was finally a great day...lol!
nomless, we did the balancing on one leg(and 1-legged star poses) in the yoga/pilates class I went to in VA and I've continued it. I can hold my balance for quite long now on both legs...and even shave my legs that way for extra practice...lol. We also do it in Barre with a band around our legs while doing upper-body weight. It really is important to incluce "balance work" in our work-outs.
Laura...hope you day goes better! I'm not going to any classes today, too sore from the weekend and tomorrow is Empower...just a cardio day and stretching for me, and tons of errands and cleaning. Plus doing an extra Harvey fund-raiser class this week so I don't feel bad missing one.
MickD...I did the Total Gym this weekend(kids have one) but could never do cardio on it, I feel for ya. Do you have a bike or rower?
Well, I didn't read back far enough...Mmsfoxxie, hope you are off to your gym today, I think Tuesday is your favorite day, maybe I'm wrong. bopper...hope you're doing well and Mr. bopper too...and Logan too! DrKelli...hope your trip to Nawlins was uneventful. Judy...are you back home??
Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to tackle the week! We had terrible storms last night, still remnants of Harvey I guess all the way to Canada. Praying for Irma to head out to sea. My gf said the stores are already crazy and some shelves are bare. We used to live in Puerto-Rico, looks like they're going to get it head-on...sure hope not.

DrKelli...didn't see your post. Do you have fires in CO? My gf said Montana is burning really bad and we aren't even seeing it on the news! So I read up on it, horrible fires all over the state. Her bf is a fire-fighter so she hasn't seen much of him.

There is one fire burning in Steamboat Springs, but we are getting all that smoke and haze from Utah, California and Montana. I couldn't even see the mountains on Saturday and Sunday.

Hey all, I'm mixed up on the days now because of Labor Day. Mr. Bopper is doing very well thank you, he amazes me and the doctors. We went hiking yesterday, it was wet but we enjoyed it, didn't go to far but his smile was sure lighting up the woods. Even my sons have said he's looking happier than he's ever been, that happens when you've been given your life back I guess.
I am praying for everyone in the paths of these hurricanes, we have friends in the Caymans and that looks not so good too and many of our friends in FL too.
Nomless I have good balance and stand on 1 leg everyday as soon as I get out of bed. It's good to have that balance for sure!
Lucy you deserve to have a good week for sure, and praying that happens. You must exhausted from all of that last week. Didn't know DS had stitches, glad nothing happened with that on the golf course.
Dr.Kelli, those fires are terrible. My DIL hasn't mentioned it to me but I saw on the news they were seeing the smoke.
Speaking of DIL, baby is due soon and she is having some contractions so it won't be long now!
We're only in the 50's now, and we already saw geese flying South, seems early for that. They said the leaves are turning earlier than normal too because of the cold nights we have had this summer. However they did say that did not indicate we would have a rough winter, so at least there is hope there!
Waving to foxxie, Laura, MickD, Daisy, Judy, Tony, and everyone wanting to say hi, have a wonderful week!
